More than half of households in Scotland's social housing sector include someone with a disability. Yet our new research shows that disabled renters feel they are consistently getting a worse deal.

Homes that don't meet their needs, repairs left unresolved, landlords who don’t make them feel heard.

We want The Scottish Government, the regulator, and landlords to make improvements, and 2026 gives them the opportunity to do so.

Imagine not having a safe address to receive your post.

For many people in Scotland, this is a reality.

Homelessness, living in unsafe housing and the impact of domestic abuse can make it hard to access letters about benefits, health appointments and bank accounts. In some cases, mail arriving at an unsafe address can put people at risk.

There is a scheme that could change this. ‘Address and Collect’ would:

- allow people to use their local Post Office as a secure place to receive their mail and
- work as a recognised address for essential services

We spoke to charities and community groups across Scotland to find out what this could look like here.

Did you know that public bodies in Scotland have a legal duty to consider the impact on consumers when taking strategic decisions?

It's called the Consumer Duty, and it's at the heart of what we do.

When public bodies get this right, it means services that better reflect the needs of the people who use them.

Fewer complaints. Less time and money wasted on fixing poor decisions. And greater confidence in the public services you rely on every day.

Our Chief Executive Sam Ghibaldan took that message to the Scottish Government's Public Reform Summit.

The event was chaired by the First Minister John Swinney, Deputy First Minister Jenny Gilruth and Public Service Reform Minister Ivan McKee MSP.

Nearly 1 in 5 households in Scotland are in energy debt — double the rate from 2024.

That's before a 13% rise in energy prices in July.

We are developing proposals to present to the UK and Scottish governments for better support for people who need it most.
