The day commenced with a media interaction by Consul General Dr Venkatachalam Murugan, who spoke about the relevance of Yoga and its growing global message of health, harmony, and inner balance. He emphasised Yoga as India’s timeless gift to humanity and highlighted key Government of India initiatives under , including Yoga Mahotsav 2026, the Yoga Sangam Portal, Yoga Park Portal, the Khajuraho countdown, and the global Guinness World Record Yoga event.
In his inspiring welcome address at Victoria Square, the Consul General further outlined the Consulate’s curated Yoga initiatives, including seven specialised Yoga sessions, Ayurveda integration, Yoga Asana competitions, and exhibitions under 🌿✨
Distinguished dignitaries, including the Mayor of Royal Sutton Coldfield Cllr Dr Nitish Raut and Deputy Lord Lieutenant Dwan Ward CBE, were felicitated on the occasion.
