Mae amser o hyd i holi - gweler y manylion isod.

~~~
Rydym yn gweithio gyda phrosiect Grounds for Appeal i greu cronfa ddata o gofnodion tribiwnlys milwrol y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf ym Mhrydain Fawr. Rydym yn chwilio am chwe gwirfoddolwr a fydd yn gweithio gyda'i gilydd yn Archifau Gwent i drawsgrifio’r cofnodion tribiwnlys milwrol sydd yn ein casgliadau.
Os ydych chi;
· ar gael ar fore dydd Iau
· yn hyfedr wrth ddefnyddio cyfrifiadur
· yn gallu darllen ysgrifen redeg
Beth am ymuno â ni yn ein bore agoriadol ddydd Iau 25 Mehefin 10-12 i ddarganfod mwy am y prosiect, yr hyn y bydd y trawsgrifiad yn ei gynnwys, a gweld rhai enghreifftiau sydd yn ein casgliadau? Os oes gennych ddiddordeb, anfonwch e-bost i [email protected] i gadw lle, a rhowch wybod i ni os oes gennych unrhyw ofynion o ran diet neu fynediad.
We are working with the Grounds for Appeal project to create a database of First World War military tribunal records in Great Britain. We are looking for six volunteers who will be working together at Gwent Archives to transcribe military tribunal records from our collections.
If you are;
• available on Thursday mornings
• computer confident
• able to read cursive handwriting
Why not join us at our opening morning on Thursday 25th June 10-12 to find out more about the project, what the transcription will involve and see some examples from our collections? If interested, please email [email protected] to book your place and let us know if you have any dietary or access requirements.
Bilingual post - English below;
Mae’n heddiw felly beth am ddathlu’r achlysur trwy wneud bisgedi bara sinsir? Cofnodwyd y rysáit yma yn llyfr Caroline Pierce ac mae’n gofyn am;
Un pwys o flawd
½ pwys o Driog
½ owns o Sinsir
6 owns o Fenyn
½ pwys o Siwgr
A pheth croen lemon “os oes chwant”
Yn anffodus, does dim cyfarwyddyd ar sut i roi’r cynhwysion at ei gilydd nac am ba mor hir i’w pobi. Ond os benderfynwch chi roi tro ar ail-greu’r rysáit, byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed sut weithiodd pethau!
Today is so why not mark the occasion by making some gingerbread biscuits? This recipe was recorded in Caroline Pierce’s book and calls for;
One lb of flour
½ lb of Treacle
½ oz of Ginger
6 oz of Butter
½ lb of Sugar
And some lemon peel “if you like it”
Unfortunately, there’s no guidance on how to put the ingredients together nor how long to bake them for. But if you decide to recreate the recipe, we would love to hear how it turns out!
Bilingual post - English below;
Wrth lanhau cofnodion Pwll Glo’r Gogledd yn Rhisga, daethom ar draws cofrestr a oedd yn cofnodi’r merlod pwll a’r gyrwyr ar bob shifft. Cyfeirir atynt fel merlod yn aml, ond ceffylau (sef dros 14 dyrnfedd o uchder) oedd y rhan fwyaf o’r anifeiliaid a ddefnyddiwyd mewn pyllau glo. Yn anffodus, dydyn ni ddim yn gwybod llawer am fywydau Flume, Pedler, Night, Rusty, Monty, Rattler, Kitchener, Jewel a Dobson, na’r gofal a roddwyd iddynt, ond gobeithio, pan fydd y casgliad wedi'i gatalogio'n llawn, y byddwn ni’n gallu dweud ychydig yn rhagor wrthych.
When cleaning the Risca North Colliery records, we came across a register that recorded the pit ponies and drivers on each shift. While often referred to as ponies, the majority of animals used in collieries were horses (being over 14 hands high). Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the lives and care of Flume, Pedlar, Night, Rusty, Monty, Rattler, Kitchener, Jewel and Dobson but hopefully when the collection is fully catalogued we will be able to tell you more.
