3SFire Community Interest Company

At 3SFire, we’re really pleased to be supporting an initiative aimed at encouraging more young women to see the fire service as a career they might consider in the future.

There are so many qualities that cross over from sport into the fire service: teamwork, fitness, resilience, determination and looking out for each other. This felt like a great opportunity to make that connection with young women who may never have thought about a career in the fire service before.

As part of the initiative, 3SFire is supporting a new Under-18s women’s football team with their match kit, which will carry the message “Inspiring Future Firefighters.”

For us, the real value is the opportunity this creates to support young people in our communities, encourage more women to consider careers in the fire service and reach them in a different way.

A simple idea, but hopefully one that might just get someone thinking, “I could do that.”

Celebrating Five Years of 3SFire CIC

This year marks five years since 3SFire became a Community Interest Company.

Back in 2021, the aim was simple: to use the success of our commercial work to support projects that improve safety, wellbeing and community resilience across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Since then, we've invested over £108,000 into community initiatives, supporting everything from Fire Cadets and early intervention programmes to rural safety projects, firefighter wellbeing initiatives and community safety campaigns.

We've been fortunate to support organisations and events including Blue Lamp Trust, South Coast Firefighter Challenge, Firefighters Memorial Stair Climb, UKRO Festival of Rescue, Fire Investigation Dogs, and New Forest Wellbeing, alongside a range of local projects that often don't attract the headlines but make a real difference to the people involved.

This support is only possible because organisations continue to choose 3SFire for training, consultancy and fire safety services. Every customer helps contribute to the wider community benefit that sits behind what we do.

We're still a small team, but over the last five years we've shown that a business can be commercially successful while staying true to its purpose.

A huge thank you to all our customers, associates, partners and supporters for helping make that possible.

Great to see this campaign back for 2026. Emollient creams provide essential health benefits, but many people don't realise they can also increase fire risk when absorbed into clothing and bedding. We're pleased that 3SFire CIC funding has helped get this important safety message out to more people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Please share with anyone who may benefit.

Working in or near water? As the seasons change, now is a good time to think about safety.

Summer already feels a distant memory. The mornings are getting cooler, the ground is getting wetter and I've started reaching for my wellies again when walking the dog.

It serves as a reminder that many people spend much of their working day in, on or near water. Whether that's rangers, countryside teams, environmental organisations, volunteers, grounds maintenance staff, parks teams or anyone else working around rivers, lakes, reservoirs and coastal areas, the risks can often be underestimated.

Understanding those risks, recognising the warning signs and knowing what to do in an emergency can make a real difference.

3SFire's Working Safely Near Water course provides practical awareness training to help individuals and organisations better understand and manage these hazards.

Our trainers bring real-world experience from the fire and rescue sector, combining practical knowledge with engaging training delivery.

Supporting safer communities.

Through the services we provide, 3SFire CIC is able to reinvest surplus into initiatives that help keep people safe across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

We're delighted to see this support being used to provide water safety engagement resources, equipment for community events and flooding prevention materials that will continue to support important prevention work in our communities.

As Kelly Hedges, Prevention Development Officer at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, said:

"These resources help us engage with communities, promote important safety messages and support prevention activities throughout the year."

Water safety remains a key focus for many organisations and communities. Alongside supporting local prevention initiatives, 3SFire also delivers practical water safety and working near water training to help organisations understand and manage these risks.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering this important work.

Experience matters when it comes to Fire Risk Assessment.

At 3SFire, our Fire Risk Assessments are completed by qualified fire safety professionals with backgrounds in fire safety regulation, inspection, enforcement, training and operational firefighting.

Our team includes former Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service personnel who have experience working with a wide range of premises, from community buildings and offices through to more complex commercial and industrial environments.

Every assessment we complete is subject to an internal quality assurance review before being issued, helping to ensure consistency, accuracy and practical, proportionate recommendations.

Whether you're responsible for a single building or a larger property portfolio, our aim is simple: to provide clear fire safety advice that helps you understand and manage risk.

Meet the Team

While many people know 3SFire through our training, consultancy and fire safety services, behind the scenes we're supported by a small but dedicated core team.

From top to bottom:
• Jo Scarth, Managing Director
• Tanya Wheatley, Finance & Office Manager
• Gemma Lawrence, Training & Operations Coordinator

As a small team, we wear many hats, supporting clients, coordinating training, managing projects and keeping the business running smoothly day-to-day.

Alongside our core team, we work with a trusted network of associate trainers and consultants from across the fire and rescue sector and beyond. This allows us to bring together the right skills and experience for each project while maintaining the personal service that our clients value.

We're proud to work with some fantastic organisations and particularly grateful to the many clients who continue to return to us for training, consultancy and fire safety support.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support 3SFire.

If a fire or major incident happened on your site today, who would be in charge before the emergency services arrived?

Many organisations have Fire Marshals and emergency procedures in place, but incidents often require managers and supervisors to make decisions, coordinate resources and provide information to responding emergency services.

Our Emergency Preparedness & Incident Command training is designed to help organisations build confidence, develop practical decision-making skills and test emergency arrangements before they're needed.

Delivered by experienced fire service professionals, the training is tailored to your site, your risks and your people. Where appropriate, we can incorporate your existing procedures, emergency plans, equipment and site-specific scenarios to create realistic and relevant training.

Whether through tabletop exercises, incident command workshops or practical emergency response training, we help organisations strengthen preparedness and build resilience.
