ROAD CLOSED: We and our emergency service partners are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A34, near Sutton Scotney.

The A34, both northbound and southbound carriageways, are closed from junction 9 of the M3 to the Bullington Cross Roundabout (A303).

We ask that you please avoid the area until further notice, and please find alternative routes for your journeys.

We will endeavour to update you all as soon as the road has fully reopened.

Thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we respond to this incident.

🌊 It's more than just fires for our firefighters!

One of our teams threw themselves into the deep end, taking the plunge for a training session this week, ensuring they are prepared to perform rescues from water when called upon.

Make sure you know what to do to stay safe around water this summer. If you see someone in trouble in the water:

📱 Phone – Call 999 and ask for Fire and Rescue (inland water) or the Coastguard (coastal emergencies).

🛟 Float – Encourage them to float on their back and stay calm.

🪢 Throw something that floats to help them stay above the water.

❌ Never enter the water to attempt a rescue yourself.

Our two Corporate Services apprentices, Ellen and James, are coming towards the end of their two-year programme, having already secured new roles within the organisation.

The successful initiative, which saw them work across the different departments at our headquarters in Eastleigh, is set to be repeated with a brand-new pair of apprentices welcomed into the Service.

Smoke was issuing when crews arrived on the scene before the fire spread into the roof of the building.
