It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that our Chief Engineer Andrew Stuart passed away on Saturday 24th of July from colon cancer. May his soul rest in peace and we at SeaFire will pray for him to obtain his well deserved eternal rest after all the hard work he has done for us and all his customers over the years. Thank you to all of you who showed understanding and sympathy during the last months of Andrew’s life when he was finding it difficult to meet deadlines and complete jobs on time. We all believe that Andrew was an admirable man who kept working hard until the very end and will be sorely missed by all of us. We are sending our sincere condolences to his family and may our Lord give them strength to cope with this tragic loss.

Thank you for everything you have done for us Andrew. We will always remember you and the work you have done for the community!

As Andrew was the only engineer of SeaFire and basically a sole trader, the company will now be terminated and sadly SeaFire is no more. 😔🧯

Well that was quite an exciting week when one of our most important clients had a fire in their factory. When we received a call from a Director, it was Wednesday 1st April and we thought it was a joke, but it was serious! At about 2.00 in the morning, one of their machines started to leak diesel, which caught fire! Fortunately, the Fire Safety Training that we had given them paid off. Staff tackled the fire with portable Extinguishers and the fire was out by the time the Fire Service arrived. Damage was not very serious and production continued. We gave them a Safety Check and replaced the Extinguishers that had been used. We then produced a preliminary Report about the fire and carried out a general Inspection of the whole factory. After any fire the Fire Risk Assessment has to be reviewed and this is what we will be carrying out in the next few days. As our work is regarded as “essential”, we are allowed to come out of “lockdown” mode.

SEA Fire Coronavirus COVID-19 Policy March 2020

As responsible Fire Safety Consultants, we have created a Policy to try to protect the Health and Welfare of our Staff and our Customers.

With immediate effect we will follow all the latest information and advice from HM Government and experts by avoiding all person to person contact in order to try to minimise the spread of the virus. Our vehicles are equipped with alcohol basement hand sanitisers and surgical face masks, which will be used when necessary. Our Staff will wear Nitrile Gloves when on Customers premises and when carrying out their tasks, using sanitisers before entering and on leaving Customers premises. Should it become necessary, they will wear the face masks provided.

Should any of our Staff present any of the symptoms reported to be potentially signs of an Infection, they will immediately self isolate for a minimum of 7 days and, if necessary, 14 days. The initial signs are a sudden new dry cough, sneezing and/or a high temperature. If this should happen on Customers premises, they will immediately put on their face mask and advise our Customer, then leave and go home to self isolate.

All documentation will be sent electronically and enquires will be by phone or by text messages. If Appointments need to be delayed or changed, Customers will be advised as soon as possible in order that a new Appointment can be scheduled.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Andrew Stuart. AMIFPA

Now that I have got a Thule roof rack on my car, it is great because I can carry my ladders much more conveniently. This is so good because I don’t need an expensive large van any more. With the rear seats folded down, I can carry a full load and give customers an even better service.

The was one of the worst hotel fires for many years and so many mistakes were made by people who should have known better. The two WOODEN Fire Escapes at the rear of the Hotel, which were unprotected and, yet, PASSED by the local Fire Service did not help. I had to attend the Inquest for the poor people whose deaths could have been avoided and I gave evidence that, in my opinion, the Hotel was trading illegally. As a result, interviewed me and you can see the edited (by BBC) result.

What an interesting week!
One of my clients was affected by a lightning strike which hit a telephone pole and traveled into the building through the phone lines! Needless to say, all the phones in residents rooms were fried. The fire alarm control panel was damaged and I had to repair it. Four of the fire bells were fried and have to be replaced! All of their TV sets were also fried and are being replaced.

WOW, well it has been a hectic week, travelling all over my “patch”, but the best part was that a large local Nursing Home asked me to Quote for an EMS FireCell fire alarm. The EMS expert did a Radio Integrity Test and with several boosters we can cover the whole building. Now I just have to give them a good price.
