*Please do not book Keeper’s Loft if you have mobility issues, vertigo or claustrophobia. It is a mezzanine room with a steep ladder, inside the original lighthouse tower.

🚍 The Coaster 13X bus runs directly between Beachy Head and Brighton via Birling Gap, Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven and the coast road. The journey takes about 1 hour 10 minutes.

If the 13X isn’t running, take a local bus or taxi into Eastbourne town centre. Then catch a Coaster 12/12A/12X service to Brighton. 📸 Chris Jepson

Combine a stay at Belle Tout Lighthouse with a day at the opera this Summer - the Glyndebourne Summer Festival runs to 30 August 2026. One night stays at Belle Tout are now available from Monday through Thursday.

Glyndebourne Festival 2026 spans three and a half centuries of opera – ranging from Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo first performed in 1607 (arguably the first masterpiece of the artform) to Britten’s Billy Budd which premiered in 1951.

2026 South Downs National Park Photo Competition

The heartwarming serenity of the South Downs National Park will be the focus of this year’s annual photography competition.

The deadline for entries is midnight on 31 October, 2026.

The theme of this year’s photo competition is “Serene South Downs: Back to Nature” and judges will be looking for breathtaking images that celebrate the National Park’s serenity and those moments of slowing down and taking stock.

Prizes: £250 for first place, £150 for second place and £75 for third place.
