Following recent storms, debris from damaged shipping containers has washed up along several Sussex beaches, including Birling Gap.

If you are visiting the area, please avoid touching or approaching any debris.

We are currently working closely with the relevant authorities to assess and safely remove the material.

Your cooperation helps keep both visitors and the coastline safe.

Thank you for your understanding.
