The three council operated splash parks in the Canch, Kings' Park and Langold Country Park will be re- opening from Monday 19 July following the lifting of the Government restrictions.

The splash parks will be open daily from 10am to 6pm.

The latest Government guidance states that 'In general, the risk of catching or passing on COVID-19 is higher in crowded spaces, where there are more people who might be infectious.' Although outdoors, the splash parks are very popular and well used facilities and we encourage people to act responsibly, for example if they are busy then consider coming back later.

Splash Pools in Bassetlaw to Remain Closed

We are really sorry to tell everyone that our splash parks in Worksop, Retford and Langold will remain closed this year.

We know that many people will be disappointed and we have not taken this decision lightly.

Public safety must always come first and given the popularity of our splash parks, we are not 100% confident that social distancing and public safety guidelines can be maintained and allow our splash parks to operate safely in a Covid Secure way.

We appreciate everyone’s frustrations and look forward to opening our splash parks once it is safe to do so.

Play Parks to Reopen Across Bassetlaw

Bassetlaw District Council will begin the reopening of its play parks across the District with Kings’ Park, Retford, The Canch, Worksop and Langold Park opening on Saturday 4 July 2020. The reopening of play areas provides children with the opportunity to exercise and learn through play, which is beneficial for development and mental health.

We have 36 separate play areas to prepare for opening and we ask the public to bear with us as we work through the cleaning and safety measures necessary for us to re-open in line with Government guidance. The remainder of Council owned play areas will re-open on Monday 6th July.

Each play area will be given a deep clean with new signage installed prior to opening and they will be re-sprayed once a week on inspection.
