Elections in England

You might have seen some coverage of elections taking place in other parts of the country, but there are no elections scheduled for Bassetlaw on Thursday 7th May 2026.

This year is known as a fallow year with no elections taking place for either Bassetlaw District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, the County Combined Authority or the Police and Crime Commissioner taking place, and is part of the normal local election cycle.

At Bassetlaw, we elect all our 48 district councillors every four years and our next local elections are due to take place in May 2027.

Neighbourhood Planning Referendums in Harworth and Bircotes and Sutton cm Lound are taking place on 21st May.
