⛳ What a way to finish! After an incredible week on the golf course, long-time Jigsaw supporter Colin has completed his epic 504-hole challenge!🏌️‍♂️👏

Through sunshine, wind and rain, Colin has played an amazing 504 holes and raised more than £7,000 for Jigsaw South East – an incredible achievement in itself.

And there’s even more to celebrate! Colin’s son, Jenson, generously offered to match fund everything raised. 🤍

We were absolutely delighted to be there for Colin’s final round, surrounded by members of the Jigsaw team and some of the families we support, who came along to cheer him on as he completed his challenge.

A huge thank you to Colin for his incredible determination, and to everyone who donated and supported him. Your generosity will help us provide specialist grief support to children, young people and families facing and coping with bereavement.

504 holes, one incredible challenge. And a fantastic way to support Jigsaw.

We are delighted to announce that Sackville Lodge, East Grinstead Masonic Centre has donated £9,168.00 to us to help fund new IT equipment for our grief support workers.

This vital investment will enable the team to continue providing compassionate support to
bereaved children, young people and families, ensuring they have access to the technology needed to deliver their essential services effectively.

The thought of returning to school after the summer break can feel particularly difficult for children and young people who are facing or coping with the death of someone important to them.

The transition back to school can bring lots of different emotions. Giving your child time to adjust, being patient with changes in their behaviour and letting them know you're there to listen can all help.

August is National Road Victim Month. For many families, the death of a loved one in a road traffic collision changes their lives forever.

At Jigsaw South East, 11% of the families we currently support are bereaved following a road traffic collision. Behind that statistic are children and young people who are trying to understand and cope with the death of someone important to them, while navigating all the emotions that come with grief.

This National Road Victim Month, we're remembering those who have died on our roads and thinking of the children, young people and families who are missing their loved ones – not just this month, but throughout the year.

🎒 Summer Support Kit – Pack this: Kindness for yourself

As the summer holidays begin to draw to a close, you might be feeling ready for the return to routine. Or perhaps you're feeling tired, emotional or wondering how you're going to manage the next transition.

If you've spent the summer supporting your child while also carrying your own grief, or caring for someone facing the end of their life, remember to look after yourself too.

Self-care doesn't have to mean finding hours for yourself. Sometimes it's the small things:

☕ Making a cup of tea and actually sitting down to drink it.
🌿 Taking a few quiet minutes outside.
📺 Watching something together that makes you smile.
🤍 Accepting help when it's offered.
💬 Talking to someone who understands.

Looking after yourself isn't selfish. It shows children that it's OK to have feelings, to need support and to take care of yourself too.

As we pack another item into our Summer Support Kit, we're reminding parents and carers:
You matter too. If the end of the holidays feels difficult, be gentle with yourself.

And he's off! 🏌️‍♂️It was a very early start for fundraiser Colin Cornhill on Sunday as he set off on his epic week-long golf challenge in support of Jigsaw South East.
