This budget is about easing the everyday pressures of the cost of living crisis. That’s why the minimum and living wage for nearly 3 million workers across the UK is going up again in April:
* 💷 £900 a year increase in pay = A full-time worker on the National Living Wage
* 💷 £1500 a year increase in pay = A full-time worker on the National Minimum Wage

The official opening of the new Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Training HQ in Whitley Wood is something to celebrate. Delighted that Whitley will continue to help our fire fighters continue their development - from recruits and apprentices right the way up to the commander

Congratulations to Whitley CDA on your National Lottery Community Funding. So proud to celebrate this next step of your journey with you - I've been with you since day zero and it's been messy, challenging and fun - and we're doing it together ❤️

Thanks to Dave Turner for sharing these photos taken earlier.

*Roadworks in Shinfield next week*

Please see upcoming roadworks next week. Lots of resurfacing being done around our village so quite a few closures.

Note the closure on Hyde End Ln is from just after Oakbank up to Ryelish Ln according to the council website- I believe access to the school should be maintained from Church Ln.

14/06/2025

Over the last month, my casework team and I have supported constituents to keep their neighbourhoods tidy, as well as helping those in need. Recently, we have:

• Arranged essential tree maintenance and the rebuilding of broken fences

• Supported residents to have double yellow lines repainted and dropped curbs to be installed.

• Helped a constituent access emergency food support during a time of crisis.

• Secured a refund for a constituent’s incorrect parking charges.

Over the last month, we’ve had over 700 new cases come in for my team to help with. Please get in touch if you think that I can help you with local or national issues, or if you would like to ask about a particular Government policy!

📣 *SPENDING REVIEW: NHS TO RECEIVE INCREASED FUNDING* 📣

The Labour government is getting the NHS back on its feet. 🌹💙

*In less than a year the government has:*
- recruited 1,700 more GPs
- delivered 3.5 million more appointment
- cut waiting lists by more than 200,000

A record £29 billion funding increase has been confirmed for our NHS, to deliver more appointments, mental health support in schools and hire more doctors.

Labour is putting our communities first.
