This morning we were all so lucky to have the opportunity to go out onto church street to cheer on football legend, Jill Scott, as she ran past our school!

Jill has took part in running, cycling and walking from London to Sunderland to raise money for Sports Relief ⚽️.

Last Wednesday we were very lucky to have a police officer visit our nursery with her dog, Ben! The police officer told us lots of important information including who we have to call in an emergency, stranger danger and who to go to if you need help. We also talked about the different vehicles used in emergencies such as police cars, motor bikes and helicopters 🚔🚁.

The boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed this memorable experience and even got to stroke Ben the dog and try on some of the uniform, including a police jacket, helmet and hat 👮🏽🚨.

We have had such a fun filled, busy few weeks in nursery! 🤩.

We have been learning all about Pablo Picasso and his abstract artwork, inspiring us to make our very own creations! 🖼️.

Throughout the week we have also been looking at the lifecycle of a sunflower, and planted our very own to take home with us and watch as they bloom over the summer 🌻.

Some other fun activities have included;
🎨 Painting and drawing sunflowers
🫧 Bubble painting
🌸 Blossom tree finger print art
🖍️ Tracing the letters of our name using different colours
🍎 Organising healthy and unhealthy foods
🥣 Making chive dip using the chives from our nursery garden
🥭 Taste testing unusual fruits we may have never tried before
& many more!

We have had a lovely first week back in nursery to start the summer term ☀️.

In the Easter half term the boys and girls had lots of fun in holiday club, some activities included;

🍫 Playing with chocolate gloop

🥚 Painting boiled eggs
🪴 Gardening

🍪 Making rice crispy cakes with cream eggs

We hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend! The children have had so much fun learning all about spring and participating in Easter activities, some of these have included;

🌼 Looking at & painting daffodils
🌸 Making potions with blossom petals
🪺Putting the correct amount of chicks in their nests
🥕Feeding the Easter bunny different shaped carrots
🐥 Making chicks using toilet roll tubes & paint
🥚 Coloured pasta Easter egg decorating
🐞 Looking at the lifecycle of a ladybird & creating our very own using wooden slices

Today the children where invited to take part in some yoga for wellbeing day 🧘🏽.

On our yoga mats we practiced our sitting and breathing, played some different games and then did some relaxing 😌.

This was a great way to help boost our strength, balance and coordination, and also helped self regulate and calm at the end of the day💗.

Yesterday the boys and girls had a fun day participating in Red Nose Day activities and dressing up in miss matched clothes 🔴.

We also learnt all about the festival of Eid and designed our very own mehndi patterns 🎊.
