What a fantastic way to celebrate 50 years of Banks Group. 🌿

A huge thank you to everyone at Horticap for hosting such a memorable evening. The beautiful setting, wonderful hospitality and hard work of the staff, students and volunteers made it a truly special occasion.

We're also incredibly grateful to the Horticap team and students who visited our Durham office today in their Banks Homes-branded van to present us with a stunning display of '50' flowers, grown and created by the students themselves. The display now sits proudly outside our office and will serve as a lasting reminder of a wonderful celebration and the incredible work Horticap does within the community.

Thank you for helping us mark this milestone in such a meaningful way. 💚

We're proud to be supporting this year's Durham Regatta as an official sponsor as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations.

As one of County Durham's most iconic sporting events, Durham Regatta brings together thousands of competitors, volunteers and spectators on the banks of the River Wear each year. Our sponsorship will help support the event, including its Volunteer Hub, while also helping organisers keep entry fees and enclosure ticket prices at the same level as last year.

Supporting local communities has been at the heart of what we do since 1976, and we're delighted to be backing an event that has such a long and important place in County Durham's history.

Good luck to everyone taking part, and we hope to see plenty of people enjoying a fantastic weekend on the Wear. 🚣

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Whether we’re on a quarry, a building site or in the office, the message at Banks is always the same:
Look after yourself. Look out for each other.

We’re proud to have seven trained Mental Health First Aiders across our sites; Debbie Anderson, Lauren Tomlinson, Christian Adkins, Joanne Bethell, Deborah Hurton, Jacki Reynolds & Jade Johnston who are available to offer confidential support and guidance whenever it’s needed.

Sometimes a simple:�“How are you mate?”�or�“Here if you want to talk”�can make all the difference.

Let’s keep checking in, supporting each other and creating a culture where nobody feels they have to struggle alone.

Becky Styles & Jamilah Hassan, two of our BHAW representatives were happy to attend the Better Health at Work Award County Durham celebration to collect our Maintaining Excellence Award and were incredibly surprised and honoured to also receive the Special Recognition Award on the day 🥳🏆

This award recognises our continued commitment to workplace wellbeing and physical activity, and the creativity and enthusiasm our teams bring to it every year.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff for always embracing our sometimes slightly “out of the box” ideas 💡 Your energy and support are what make initiatives like this such a success

A brilliant evening at the Insider North East Property Awards 2026 last night at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead ✨

Some of the team from Banks Group and Banks Homes attended the final, where we were proud to be shortlisted for Housebuilder of the Year, alongside Deal of the Year for the Kingston Village site with YoungsRPS.

While we didn’t take home the trophy this time, receiving a Highly Commended mention in the Housebuilder of the Year category was a real moment for the team and recognition that the judges see something special in what we’re building. 🏡

It’s an exciting time to join Banks Homes, part of the respected The Banks Group. As a family-owned business celebrating 50 years in 2026, we’re proud to create thoughtfully designed homes and sustainable communities across the North East and Yorkshire.

🌱 This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team committed to quality, sustainability and community.

As a Labourer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our construction sites. From opening and securing the site each day to maintaining high standards of tidiness, safety and presentation, you’ll help ensure our developments operate efficiently and to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:
🔑 Opening and closing the site each day
🏗️ Managing plot keys and site access
🦺 Maintaining health, safety and site cleanliness
♻️ Ensuring waste is segregated and recycled appropriately
🌿 Keeping plots, show home gardens and public spaces well presented

We’re looking for someone with previous site experience, a proactive approach, strong health and safety awareness, and a valid CSCS card.
