🙌 GREAT DAY! 🙌

Thank you to all the families that joined our SEND- friendly Open Day today. 🙌

Despite a number of fire calls before and during, the crew managed to muddle the event together and have received some lovely feedback too! 🙌

Thank you to all the wonderful raffle doners, Woburn Community Fire Station for covering many of the fire calls as well as the volunteers, RRT, community safety team, community first responders and most of all; those that attended!

The idea was to create a safe, non-judgmental space for families to enjoy the fire station and feedback so far, is that this was achieved. 😍👍

As a bonus, £128 was raised for Fire Fighters Charity too! 🙌🙌

We'll post again with some raffle winners and appreciation for the contributors soon! 🙌😍👍

A- For this event, thanks but no. We're specifically making the event a calmer environment not to overstimulate attendees. But don't worry, more Open Days at local stations are scheduled and we will share details here. 🚒🧑‍🚒👍😀

A big shout out to Thorn Springs Care Home who hosted some specialist training for yesterday. 🙌❤️

The crew started with a presentation to the care home staff on caring for Bariatric residents in emergency situations. At the same time, the rest of the crew had some practical familiarisation with an East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust Bariatric Ambulance.

They then practically demonstrated a bariatric casualty extrication alongside Woburn Fire Crews.

The usual emergency vehicles, games and refreshments will be available but there is also dedicated quiet and sensory spaces. 🚒👍

🚒 LONG SERVICE & GOOD CONDUCT 🚒

Yesterday, were delighted to witness FF Michael Allen receiving his Long Service & Good Conduct medal. 🏅

FF Allen has served at Dunstable Station for 22 years now and you won't find a kinder, funnier, or more compassionate firefighter to work with. ❤️🧑‍🚒

His catchphrase, "Dig in" is often heard echoing accross the drill or fire ground, inspiring the rest of the watch, and his messing is legendary!

Well Done, Firefighter Allen from all of us at Dunstable Station! 👍😍🙌🚒❤️

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone that attended our charity Car Wash on Saturday. The crew were run off their feet and thank goodness for the off duty volunteers when both fire engine's got called out! 🙌😍💪

Thanks to the generosity of the attendees and the graft of Red Watch- £841 plus gift aid was raised for Fire Fighters Charity! 🙌

Crews were also able to show families around the fire appliances, share some prevention messages and gathered referrals for 16 Home Fire Safety Visits.

We'll see you in September when we go again! 😍🙌👍🚒

🚒🐻 ANIMAL ENRICHMENT 🐻🚒

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has donated a number of lengths of decommissioned fire hose to our friends at Whipsnade Zoo. 🐒🦓🐮

dropped the hose off recently which will be used by the keepers to build 'enrichment' to provide stimulation for various animals.

The crew even had a chance to build some simple enrichment themselves which were then enjoyed by the European Brown Bears. 🐻😍👍
