Our database is currently offline. We are expecting a further update by approximately 3:30pm.

What does this mean for you?

We are currently unable to access our database, where all personal and case information is securely stored. This means we are unable to complete actions such as updating records, processing referrals, or sending correspondence linked to case records.

If you are expecting a call today, this should not prevent your Supporting Officer from contacting you. However, as we may not have access to your contact details, they may need to email you to request your telephone number. Please keep an eye on your inbox.

Unfortunately, we are also unable to process any new referrals until access to the database has been restored.

We apologise for any inconvenience and will provide a further update as soon as we receive one.

Don't forget we have lots of information and guidance on our website, which may be able to answer any queries you may have.

We're inviting councillors to join our free webinar ‘Understanding SEN law: what every councillor needs to know’ on 20 October.

Councillors play an important role in the decisions that affect children and young people with SEND. This webinar will help them better understand the SEND legal framework and the challenges many families of children and young people face in securing support.

We're also asking councillors to complete a short survey before the webinar to help us better understand their knowledge of SEND law. The survey closes on 2 October.

We've created a template email on our website to make it quick and easy to get in touch.

SEND reform proposals are not the law 📣

The Government is still considering feedback on its SEND reform consultations, and no new legislation has been passed. Yet IPSEA is hearing concerns that some schools and local authorities may already be acting as though proposed changes have come into force.

Transport issues - We have been in contact with the SEND Transport Service today and have been provided with this information which we hope helps to explain the process.

Message from Central Bedfordshire Council SEND Transport Team to SNAP PCF.

Our apologies for anyone waiting on a response. Parents can continue to contact Customer Services if they need to report an issue by phoning 0300 300 8000. However, if the issue has already been reported and a ticket is already open, raising a second ticket is unlikely to speed things up and can instead create duplicate enquiries, which takes additional resource away from reviewing and resolving cases as quickly as possible.

It would be helpful for parents to regularly check their existing School Transport tickets and, where the team has requested further information, provide the requested details directly through the ticket. Responding via the ticket ensures the information reaches the team handling the case as quickly as possible and allows us to progress the issue without delay.

If a ticket has already been raised, there is therefore no need to telephone Customer Services to chase it. We encourage parents to respond directly to the existing ticket, particularly where further information has been requested, so that we have everything we need in one place and can work to resolve matters as swiftly as possible.

Thank you for helping us to manage the enquiries and ensuring that urgent matters can be prioritised appropriately.
