Encourage children and young people to collect colourful leaves and use them as a starting point for a growth mindset conversation.

Ask: What makes each leaf unique? Why do leaves change colour? How are people similar to leaves?

This simple activity can help children and young people understand that growth, change, and learning are natural parts of life. Everyone's journey is different, and that's something to celebrate.

Nicola and Joy met with US author Scott Robertson this week. Scott and his wife, Pat, were visiting Dundee to research his forthcoming historical fiction novel. The main character of the novel spent his childhood in our former orphange in the early 19th century before an eventful life begins as a young man in the US.

Joy and Nicola met with the Robertsons at Dundee's McManus where they shared what they knew about the orphange, local history and what our charity does today. Scott also has meetings with Dundee City Archives and the Local History Library. It was a pleasure to assist Scott with his novel and provide recommendations for his visit.

Nicola and Scott are pictured in The McManus.

Ahead of World Su***de Prevention Day tomorrow, we're reaffirming our commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our carers and staff.

Throughout the year, we offer a range of wellbeing training sessions designed to promote positive mental health and provide practical support.

This month, we're delighted to welcome ANDYSMANCLUB to our Support Group on 23rd September to share their inspiring story, highlight the importance of talking, discuss available support services, and share a personal lived experience.

The session is open to both men and women and offers valuable insight into mental health, wellbeing, and su***de prevention.

Because sometimes, the most important thing we can do is start a conversation.

🍂 As the seasons change, many of us take time to reflect on what's next.

This autumn, could a new chapter be waiting for you?

Fostering gives children and young people the stability, care, and encouragement they need to thrive. If you've ever considered making a difference, now could be the perfect time to explore fostering.

Decorating your front door might seem like a small activity, but it's a great way to practise a growth mindset.

By trying new ideas, experimenting with different designs, and celebrating effort over perfection, we develop the confidence to take on new challenges in all areas of life.

We're encouraging everyone to get involved and give their front door an autumn makeover. Be bold, be creative, and remember that every masterpiece starts with a first attempt.

Share your creations and inspire others to join in! 🍂
