Last week was Volunteers' Week, however we have so many volunteers we're going to continue celebrating them on our social media over the coming weeks.
Ling Mann is a dedicated volunteer who has made a significant contribution to disability sport across Dumfries and Galloway. Working across a range of roles, Ling supports young people with additional support needs to take part in sport, particularly through Boccia and swimming. She coaches locally and leads teams at competitions across Scotland and beyond, creating opportunities for athletes to develop skills, confidence and a sense of belonging.
Ling plays a key role in supporting inclusive sport, helping athletes to compete on an equal footing and benefit from both the physical and social aspects of participation. Her work has helped grow the number of athletes involved in disability sport across the region.
As Head Coach for Boccia and Swimming with Dumfries and Galloway Disability Sports, as well as Chairperson of Annandale and Eskdale Disability Sports, Lingβs leadership continues to strengthen opportunities for young people. Her commitment has supported athletes to take part in a wide range of competitions, including national events and international opportunities such as the Special Olympics World Games.
Lingβs passion for inclusion and her positive approach help ensure that every athlete feels supported, valued and able to achieve their best. Thank you for everything, Ling!
