Secretary Wanted for GURCA 🌿
Could you help make a difference in Glen Urquhart?
The Glen Urquhart Rural Community Association (GURCA) is looking for a Volunteer Secretary to join our Board of Trustees and help support the ongoing success of our community.
As Glen Urquhart's community development trust, GURCA works to make our community a better place to live, work and play.
From our beautifully transformed village hall to our community woods, Blairbeg Park and village green, we care for and develop assets that benefit everyone in the Glen.
Activities we co-ordinate include the weekly Bite n Blether lunch, fortnightly litter picks and our 'Let Us Grow' project as well as the children’s Halloween and Christmas parties
Everything we achieve is driven by local people.
With a small staff team and a passionate group of volunteers, we're looking for someone who would like to play a key role in supporting the charity's governance and future success.
What does the role involve?
✅ Organising paperwork and maintaining records
✅ Supporting meeting scheduling and Board administration
✅ Taking and managing meeting notes and correspondence
✅ Handling confidential matters with integrity and discretion
✅ Supporting good charity governance (training and support available)
What we're looking for:
✨ Good organisational skills
✨ Strong written and verbal communication
✨ Attention to detail
✨ A commitment to the community
✨ Knowledge of charity governance is helpful, but not essential
🕒 Time commitment:
Approximately 5 hours per month, including attendance at the monthly Trustee meeting.
