☀️ A fantastic weekend of adventure, teamwork and achievement for HSY cadets!
Last weekend, HSY DofE Expeditions took place at Totley Camp, where cadets taking part in their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award training were challenged with expedition routes, navigation and teamwork in very warm conditions.
Cadets enrolled on Bronze DofE successfully completed their qualifying expedition, while Silver participants carried out their practice expedition ahead of their qualifying assessment later this year.
Throughout the weekend, cadets developed practical navigation, teamwork and communication skills while working together across their routes. In addition to their DofE progress, the cadets also achieved their equivalent Army Cadet Syllabus expedition pass, with two cadets now completing their star level progression.
The weekend would not have been possible without the dedication of our CFAV team, who gave up their bank holiday weekend to support and supervise the cadets throughout the exercise. Special thanks go to Lt Alex Johnson-Summers for leading the weekend, alongside all the adult volunteers who ensured the safe and successful delivery of the expedition programme.
There was still time for some fun too, with CFAVs helping cadets stay cool in the sunshine with a few well-timed watergun ambushes along the way!
Well done to everyone involved in another successful HSY DofE weekend.
