We love being part of a community that depends on (and cares about!) the Haven as much as we do đź’™

⚓ From supporting safe navigation to investing in local initiatives and protecting our environment, we’re always looking at how we can do more for the people who use and enjoy our waters.

That’s why we’ve launched our Stakeholder Survey 2026 - and we’d really like to hear from you.

💬 Whether you’re out on the water, part of a local business, or simply interested in the Haven, your views matter.

⏱️ It only takes a few minutes to complete

Important update! ♻️

We’ve had a few reports of residents receiving incorrect waste collection calendars.
We can confirm there are no changes to residents’ current waste collection schedules.

Unfortunately, some households may have received the wrong calendar. This will be rectified, and a new, correct calendar will be delivered shortly.

In the meantime, please continue to present your waste in line with your previous calendar and the information available on our website. Thank you for your patience.

We welcome today’s announcement from Government on the new configuration of local councils across Greater Essex, and we're pleased to see our preferred model for North East Essex adopted.

We will now work closely with partners across Greater Essex to deliver these changes in a smooth and effective way, ensuring minimal disruption for our residents.

We know many people will have questions. Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be sharing updates and key information as the implementation plan develops.

We also welcome the clarity from Government about future election arrangements; with confirmation there will be elections to the new unitary council in May 2027, with councillors elected for an initial five-year term to cover the transition process.

In the meantime, we remain fully committed to providing excellent local services right up until Tendring District Council closes on 1 April 2028. We’ll also be working hard to make sure this re organisation creates real opportunities to deliver even better services in the future.

Work has started on a series of improvement works around Dovercourt Town Centre and the nearby seafront.🚧

When you’re out and about, you may see the team from Ryebridge working on paths on the cliffs, in Cliff Park, around the Queen Victoria statue or on the Mill Lane underpass.

The work is being funded by the High Street Accelerator Green Spaces initiative which we are delivering with our partners Visit Harwich.

Another complementary scheme focussing on the town centre being run by Essex County Council will begin later this spring.
