No mow May is a way to do your but for nature if you can !

Are you taking part in No Mow May this year? Let us know on our No Mow May Pledge form๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒผ letstalk.kent.gov.uk/no-mow-may

No Mow May starts on Sunday and we want to know if you are taking part. Today we are launching our pledge form for you to fill in so we can see how far across the county No Mow May reaches. If you are taking part in No Mow May, please sign the pledge to not mow your lawn for a month!

Throughout May on our page and in monthly newsletter, we will be bringing you lots of tips for improving your lawn for wildflowers, along with what Kent County Council are doing for No Mow May. And at the end of May, don't forget to take part in Plantlife's Every Flower Counts survey to see which flowers are growing in your lawn!

We are really excited for No Mow May this year and looking forward to seeing how many Kent residents and businesses are taking part!

Something a little different; Rudie Edwards returning to her hometown of Dover to film a song about her youth. Look closely and you'll see some of the sites we manage featured!

We will be closing this page as the legacy of Up on the Downs lives on with our partners.

A reminder to follow White Cliffs Countryside Partnership for things going on in the Folkestone and Dover districts.

We will leave you with one of the most popular pictures we posted from a livestock lookerer (checker). These creatures keep the grassland biodiverse and help us stop rare species disappearing.

The weather looks lush next week, either way, be at High Meadow for 10am on Monday, every Monday.

A personal trainer will be there for some HIIT sessions to start your week off.
Be there, no matter your ability, to exercise on the downs in the fresh unpolluted air with nature all around!
You wont regret it :)

Hedgerows are so valuable to us. They create habitat, link habitats, help soils, protect soils and sink carbon.
Chalk grassland has itโ€™s own rare and important species and best to not plant trees on it. However, hedgerows around suitable areas boosts pollinators, clean air and help wildlife.
Hedgerows need to be enhanced, reinstated abs protected :-)
