⭐ It's Volunteers' Week, and we'd like to take the opportunity to say a great big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers for the brilliant contributions you make throughout the year.

⭐ From the newly restored Maison Dieu to the beautiful Kearsney Parks, our volunteers work across our various sites and venues, whether that’s helping to keep them looking their best, working with the community at events, digitally archiving old photos or protecting our natural spaces.

⭐ Do you have some spare time? We are inviting anyone with an interest in the district –in its heritage, environment or our tourist attractions – to get involved in volunteering. There’s plenty of variety depending on your interests.

Important notice re Kearsney Cafe -
The café in Kearsney Abbey will need to close for two days on 11 & 12 June for essential maintenance. However, the kiosk will be open from 10am for these two days with a range of sweet treats, hot and cold drinks, and ice cream.
The café is having work done to its gas supply, and we are also looking to carry out routine maintenance works to refresh, repair and paint the inside of the building and clean the outside and patio area at the same time.
The toilets outside the café will remain open as usual.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you in advance for your understanding.

Hello June!
As we enter a new month, we’re sharing this lovely moment from last year — a proud swan family enjoying the waters of Kearsney Abbey, beautifully captured by Ceri Stammers.
This photograph also features in the Kearsney Parks 2026 calendar, celebrating the wildlife and landscapes that make our parks so special.

An exciting play area upgrade is all set to swing into action for Kearsney Abbey – with the refurbishment works set to begin on Tuesday (26 May).
We apologise in advance for any disruption.
The play area site will need to remain closed while works take place. Whilst it was a difficult decision to close the facility during the half term, it will help to make sure the new facility will be open in time for the summer holidays.
Russell Gardens Play Area will remain open as normal.
