Polesden Lacey, only four miles from Dorking, is your space to enjoy. A place of contrasts with both a touch of Edwardian elegance and muddy countryside walks.

Super sleuths and puzzle pundits have just over one week left to solve the Great Polesden Mystery trail, running daily in the grounds at Polesden Lacey until Sunday 1 November.🎃

Examine suspects, play mini games and crack codes to discover who took the prized pumpkin and find it in time for the Autumn display.🍂

10am-3.30pm, £3.50 per trail, includes small prize at the end of the trail. Normal property admission applies.🥇

⚠️ Due to high winds and stormy conditions being forecast, Polesden Lacey will close to visitors all day on Friday 23 October. This includes the car park.

We plan to reopen on Saturday 24 October at 10am, subject to safety checks being carried out. ⚠️

In just one month’s time – on Saturday 21 November – Polesden Lacey will be filled with festive joy and wonder as our Christmas event inspired by the popular carol, The Twelve Days of Christmas, begins. Discover beautiful decorations inside the house, as well as themed displays and festive treats in the café, coffee shop, visitor reception, gift shop, second-hand bookshop and grounds.🎄

Follow the children’s trail around the grounds for even more festive fun and collect a special gift at the end. Normal property admission applies, small additional cost for children’s trail. 🎀

The Twelve Days of Christmas runs at Polesden Lacey from 21 November to 3 January (closed 24/25 December), 10am to 4pm. House opens at 10.30am, last entry 3pm.

The house team is busy preparing the rooms and collections for winter conservation ahead of the house closing for just under three weeks from 2 to 20 November.

However, there is still plenty to see inside the showrooms for the rest of October, including a beautiful knitted pumpkin display in the tearoom and several ‘ghostly' chairs in the picture corridors – on display throughout the half term holiday. 👻🎃👻

If you’re looking for things to keep the family occupied over half-term, why not come along to Polesden Lacey and follow our family trail based on the Moomins stories?

🍁 Follow the trail around the grounds and delve into discovering the Moomin family and their friends, living an adventurous life in the idyllic and peaceful Moominvalley in harmony with nature.
🍁 Let off steam in the Kestrel Corner children’s play area and enjoy some outdoor play.
🍁 Spot beautiful autumn colours in the trees and borders around the grounds.
🍁 Stop by the café for a drink, light lunch or snack before heading home.

The Moomins trail runs daily until Sunday 8 November and is free after normal admission has been paid. The event is presented by the award-winning creator of interactive theatrical events, Bakehouse Factory.

The Upper Sunken Garden at Polesden Lacey is awash with autumn colour right now, as the trees and shrubs are displaying glorious shades of red, orange, gold and yellow. 🍂

Do take time to visit this enchanting part of the garden if you’re planning a trip to Polesden Lacey over the coming weeks. 🍁

As half term approaches, don't forget that you can use the JustPark app to pay for your parking at Polesden Lacey or to register your National Trust membership number to park for free if you are a member. You can download the app before you set off or use the free wi-fi in the courtyard. 🛻

The JustPark code for Polesden Lacey's car park is 80650. You have 48 hours to validate your parking from your arrival time. You can also use your physical membership card to validate your parking at the parking machine. Parking for non-members costs £5.

If you missed today’s Production Garden talk at Polesden Lacey, you’ll be pleased to hear we’re running two more sessions on Thursday 22 October and Thursday 29 October (11am-12noon). 🥕

Join the team for a 45-minute talk about how they look after this important part of the garden, followed by Q&As on what produce is good to grow right now and top tips for your own seasonal crops at home. 🍀

Just a few days now until half term begins! We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Polesden Lacey for some pumpkin-puzzling fun – starting this Saturday. 🎃

Can you solve the Great Polesden Mystery? Follow the children’s trail around the grounds (Saturday 17 October to Sunday 1 November, 10am-3.30pm) to find out where the prized pumpkin has been hiding. Trail costs £3.50 per person taking part. Normal property admission applies. 🍁
