We’ve just celebrated 2 years of Encompass Voices! 🎉
A huge thank you to the Encompass Voices Planning Group — Nigel W, AJ and Jamie — for all the time, ideas and energy they put into making the day happen. A massive shout out to Nigel, our Co-production and Involvement Officer, for making sure everything ran smoothly and for the care and commitment he brings to Encompass Voices as it continues to grow.
It was a proper celebration from start to finish. A red carpet welcome, fancy hats, arts and crafts, karaoke, dancing, bingo, music games and a celebrity photobooth on the big screen. There was plenty of laughter, great music, and a brilliant buffet lunch (with decorations made by people we support too!). AJ was our resident DJ and Jamie our very own Bingo caller!
It was a hot day, but no one let that stop the fun — the whole place was full of energy and smiles.
And a Encompass Care 'thank you' to Dorchester Arts for kindly lending us their velvet ropes and helping us bring the red carpet moment to life ✨

A montage celebrating the first anniversary of Encompass Voices. The video opens with a "Happy Anniversary Encompass Voices" graphic, followed by scenes from a party in a community hall. People supported by Encompass Care smile for the camera, wear party hats, sing and dance, and enjoy entertainment together. Tables are filled with sandwiches, cakes, fruit, and party food, with guests chatting and eating. Group photos show friends celebrating side by side, while music and activities create a lively atmosphere. The video ends with the words "Same time next year?" alongside the Encompass Care logo.

As Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 comes to a close, it’s a good moment to pause and reflect.
This week has been a reminder that mental health isn’t something we “fix” in a few days, it’s something we live with, care for, and support in ourselves and each other every day.
We’ve seen powerful conversations, honest stories, and small but meaningful acts of kindness. Whether it was checking in on a friend, taking a break when you needed it, or simply acknowledging how you’ve been feeling. It all matters.
If this week highlighted anything, it’s that:

• It’s okay not to be okay
• Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness
• Listening can be just as powerful as speaking
• Small steps count

Let’s carry this forward beyond the week. Keep the conversations going. Keep showing up for yourself and others.
Your mental health matters — this week and every week 💚

Workplaces play a huge role in our mental health.
This , we’re committed to creating a culture where people feel supported, heard and valued 💚
As part of our recent stakeholder survey, we asked for honest feedback — and what people told us really matters:

💬 “Every place we support has been welcoming to our carers”
💬 “I always have positive interactions with the team when I visit”
💬 “All queries are answered promptly and communication is clear”
💬 “I am kept up to date and involved in decisions that matter”
💬 “Everyone is helpful, professional and respectful at all times”
💬 “There is always a warm, friendly atmosphere… there’s laughter, and people enjoy being there”

These moments reflect the kind of workplace we’re building — one where people feel safe, valued and connected.
But we know this takes continuous action, every day.
What action will you take today? 💭

Yesterday we wore green. Today we reflect 💚
Thank you to everyone who took part in Wear It Green Day — whether you went all out, added a subtle touch of green, or simply took a moment to support the message behind it.
Every conversation started, every photo shared, and every small act of awareness helps break the stigma around mental health.
Now we’d love to see it 💚
📸 Share your photos from yesterday in the comments or tag us — let’s keep the conversation going and celebrate the support across our community.
Because raising awareness doesn’t stop at one day. It continues in the way we show up for ourselves and each other, every single day.

As part of the Day Opportunity Group, we’re proud to be working collaboratively with local providers to support the wellbeing of our staff teams. 👍
The group was formed in February 2025 following the announcement of changes to day services across Dorset, bringing organisations together to explore how we can work positively and proactively within our communities.
Working alongside , and , we have organised three wellbeing sessions for care staff across Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland in partnership with Dan Fellows Movement & Massage and Jeni from .
The sessions are being funded collaboratively by ourselves, Dimensions and Muntsys as part of our shared commitment to staff wellbeing and support. Staff interested in attending can speak with their line management for more information. 🤩

What’s your one thing for better mental health? 💭
This week, we’re encouraging everyone to take one small action for themselves. Whether that’s a walk, a break, or reaching out.👍
Small steps can make a big difference.

✨ What a fantastic evening at the Awards on Friday night! We attended in style and were incredibly proud to have not one, but TWO finalists this year. 🏆
👏 Wendy Allwood was shortlisted for the Outstanding Kitchen & Nutrition Award for her amazing Modified Diets project. Wendy has worked closely with local cafés and food spots to encourage more suitable textured food options for people requiring specialist diets — helping make eating out more inclusive and accessible for everyone.
👏 Rene Boy Castro was shortlisted for Excellence in Social Care Training. Through his innovative ideas, consistency, and passion, Rene has played a huge part in ensuring our compliance standards remain high across the organisation.
🥇 And we are thrilled to share that Rene WON his award! What an incredible achievement!
Can you spot the beautiful centrepieces that were recently made at Encombe? 🌸✨
A huge thank you to for hosting such a fantastic evening — one we certainly won’t forget.
Congratulations to Wendy and Rene for becoming finalists, and an extra congratulations to Rene for bringing the trophy home! 🏆💙
And finally, congratulations to all of the other winners and finalists across the sector. It was inspiring to hear about the incredible work taking place across the county and to celebrate so many passionate people making a difference in social care. ✨
