👮‍♂️ One High Risk Domestic Abuse suspect located and arrested
🚐 Crime enquiries made following the reported theft of a delivery van which was operating in Charlton Down
🚓 Assisted Response colleagues at multiple RTCs and reports of a missing child
💻 Visit made to a teenage victim of fraud offering reassurance and advice
🏬 Liaising with staff at a shop in Poundbury following recent reports of anti-social behaviour

Here’s this weeks update from the Neighbourhood Team👇

👍🏻 1x Stolen caravan located and returned to its owners
🚗 2x vehicles seized. Both vehicles suspected to be used in crime
🏠 2x Joint housing visits completed
❌ 1x Section 35 Dispersal Order issued to a male causing anti-social behaviour in the town centre
📝 Details of 11x children taken following reports of anti-social behaviour in the town centre. Work continues.
🦆 Directed foot patrol on the River Walks
📄 2x Community Resolutions issued (one for Public Order and one for assault)
👣 Intelligence led hotspot foot patrols in the town centre and a number of villages
💻 1x Multi Agency meeting attended online regarding a vulnerable person
🚜 Farm visit and follow up enquiries made following reports of fly tipping
🏖️ Carried out joint patrols with Dorset Council CSAS workers at Abbotsbury Beach to ensure compliance with the local Public Space Protection Order (PSPO)
🐴 Attended a community engagement with the Rural Crime Team (RCT) and our local MP in Charminster to promote the road safety campaign

Neighbourhood Officers have attended two separate reports of young people causing anti-social behaviour in the town centre this evening.

The details of eleven young males have been taken by officers, after we responded to both incidents.

During the first reported incident, a group of 5 males had been seen entering land to the rear of a vacant property off Trinity Street. There were concerns that the group were trying to enter the property.

On our arrival, the group were found within the rear yard area, with no signs of the building being entered. All were given suitable advice and sent on their way. A small quantity of alcohol was also disposed of.

We were then sent to a further similar report a short time later.

On entering the town centre, a very helpful member of public flagged us down and pointed out a different group of males who were quickly leaving the area on foot. These males had been seen high up on the rooftops of shops on South Street.

Again, details were taken and the group were spoken to about the dangers of ‘urban exploring’. This follows other recent reports of this occurring in the town.

All of those spoken to this evening will have follow up visits made and anti-social behaviour warning letters hand delivered to their parents.

A touring caravan was reported as stolen from a compound just outside Dorchester three days ago.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Team have been making fast time enquiries, which has led to us locating the stolen caravan earlier today in the Piddle Valley area.

The caravan has since been returned to its rightful owners.

Whilst carrying out enquiries over recent days we have also seized two vehicles which are believed to be linked to recent caravan thefts across the wider Dorset and Somerset area.

An investigation is still ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.

APPEAL | We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious collision near Dorchester.

The incident occurred on Old Sherborne Road between Charlton Down and Buckland Newton at around 7pm on Tuesday 25 August 2026 and involved a blue BMW motorcycle and a silver Volkswagen Bora.

The rider of the motorcycle – a man aged in his 50s from Poundbury – sustained life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The male driver of the car was uninjured.

Police Constable Lauren Hobkirk, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am carrying out enquiries into this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area and saw what happened.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“There were road closures in place to allow us to safely deal with the incident and I would like to thank everyone for their patience during this time.”

👮‍♂️ Meet Your Local Team 👋

I'm PCSO Sarah Pilcher (5410) and I've been with Dorset Police for 19 years, all of those working in Dorchester Rural.

I actually joined Dorset Police by chance after a friend suggested I'd be a good fit for the then-new PCSO role because I'm a real people person and love a chat. Thankfully, they were right! I've never looked back and I genuinely still love what I do. 😊

One of the best things about NPT is that every day is different, which I relish. I look after a large rural area which brings many diverse challenges. You'll often find me visiting local schools too. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The children always have lots of enthusiasm and great questions!
I feel a sense of pride when I help victims, whether that be scams, theft, ASB, or criminal damage. I enjoy offering crime prevention, security advice, safeguarding or just giving victims someone to talk to. If I can't help directly, I'll always do my best to point you towards the right person or organisation who can. My aim is for residents to feel safer, supported and looked after so don't be nervous to chat, we're just ordinary people in uniform who want to help keep our communities safe. In fact, we love it when people stop to say hello! 👋😊

A little fact about me: before joining Dorset Police, I worked in lots of different jobs, including as a Civil Servant, retail, hospitality, on Condor Ferries and even in an opticians! I also took a leap of faith at 30 and went backpacking solo around Europe, Australia and New Zealand. ✈️

When I'm off duty, you'll usually find me spending time with friends, enjoying theatre shows and concerts, gardening, or spoiling my cat. 🐱🌷🎭

And if you're wondering... it's tea first thing in the morning ☕️, then usually a black coffee later in the day! 😄

Whilst Neighbourhood Officers were on foot patrol this afternoon, they were approached by separate members of the public who wished to report a male acting anti-socially in the town.

Officers quickly located a male matching the description. He was observed using his skateboard anti-socially within the pedestrianised area of South Street. He was eventually stopped and spoken by officers.

The local male, aged in his 20’s was issued with a Section 35 Dispersal Notice, directing him to leave the area of the town centre. The males skateboard was also confiscated from him, to prevent further complaints of anti-social behaviour being reported whilst he left the town.

We are sadly well aware of recent reports of wild birds being mindlessly targeted with catapults on the River Walks in Dorchester.

Many thanks to the members of public who have taken the time to report their concerns to us and provided us with evidence.

As a result, we have managed to secure clear footage of a group of young people who are suspected to be involved in the latest incident. We are continuing to make enquiries to identify all members of the group, so they can be dealt with appropriately.

The Neighbourhood Team takes these reports very seriously. Anti-social behaviour and cruelty towards animals will not be tolerated. Regular patrols of the area will continue.

💉 1x person searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act
📄 x1 Person issued with a Community Resolution regarding the possession of drugs
📝 Compiling evidence for a Criminal Behaviour Order for one of our anti-social behaviour nominals
🏠 Continued partnership work with Aster Housing Group to seek possession of a property in Poundbury, following repeat reports of anti-social behaviour which is effecting local residents
🏠 6x Joint Housing Visits
👣 Intelligence led hotspot foot patrols in the town centre and a number of villages, liaising with local residents and shop workers
🦆 Directed foot patrol and carrying out crime enquiries following recent reports of wildlife being targeted on the River Walks

Hello everyone, I'm PCSO Charlotte Alcock (6121) and I've been serving as a PCSO for 17 years, with the last 9 years dedicated to this neighbourhood.

I joined policing because I wanted to help and support our local community, and that's still what motivates me every day. One of the things I enjoy most about neighbourhood policing is working closely with our partners and local organisations to tackle issues and find long-term solutions that make a real difference.

I particularly enjoy helping with long-term issues that require a partnership approach to problem-solving, bringing together the right people and agencies to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
One of my favourite things about this area is the fantastic sense of community spirit. 🏡❤️ When you see me out on patrol, I hope you feel safe, supported and reassured, and if you've ever felt nervous about speaking to a police officer or PCSO, please don't be.
