Ros Jones (Labour) has been elected Mayor of Doncaster.

I would like to thank everyone who has voted for me, granting me a historic fourth term, to continue .

Once again, Doncaster has bucked the national trend, beaten the polls and returned a Labour Mayor for Doncaster.

I make this promise to the people of Doncaster, whether you voted for me or not, I will work for you every single day!

I thank all of our labour MPs, councillors, candidates and volunteers for their support over
the course of the campaign.

We are now approaching the tenth month of this labour Government, elected on a promise to rebuild our public services and deliver growth and prosperity across the country. I will of course work with Government to deliver investment, jobs and growth to Doncaster, but I will continue to hold them to account where necessary, I am the directly elected Mayor of Doncaster, my priority first and foremost will continue to be the residents and businesses of Doncaster.

There is much to do, and the job carries on right now. So let us crack on and really drive this borough forward, reopen our airport and continue ! Thank you.
