From 1st August, we’ll be extending our opening hours at Ditchling Post Office following the closure of Hassocks Post Office.

The new hours apply to both the shop and the Post Office counter, so yes, the Post Office is open on Sundays too!

Our new opening times will be:

Monday to Friday
8am to 1pm
3pm to 6pm

Saturday
8am to 3pm

Sunday
8am to 12 noon

We hope the longer hours will make things a little easier for everyone, and we look forward to welcoming both our regular customers and anyone who may now be travelling to us from Hassocks.

30 Years Serving Ditchling

Today we were incredibly honoured to receive a Post Office Community Service Award recognising 30 years of service to our wonderful community.

The black and white photo takes us right back to when we first took over the Post Office in 1996. It doesn't feel possible that three decades have passed so quickly!

After 30 years behind the counter, David has decided to retire, and his last day at Ditchling Post Office will be Wednesday 5th August.

We would both like to thank everyone for your friendship, support and kindness over the years. Being part of village life has been a real privilege.

I will be staying on for a short while to keep the Post Office running until a new owner is found, so you'll still see a familiar face behind the counter for a little longer.

Thank you, Ditchling, for letting us be part of your lives for the past 30 years. ❤️
