Africa Day 2026 brings colour, culture and community to city🎉🌎

We were very proud to support this year’s Africa Day celebration in . Organised by the African Caribbean Community Network ACCN and supported through the ‘Housing for All’ Shared Housing Programme, the event welcomed over 700 people for a fantastic celebration of culture, connection and inclusion.

Together with our partners Ark Housing Association, Choice Housing , Radius Housing, Housing Executive, St Columb's Hall Trust, and Derry City & Strabane District Council, we’re proud to support events that help build shared, welcoming communities where everyone feels at home. 🏠❤️

🌍 It's , a time to reflect on the role we all have to play in tackling climate change and creating more sustainable communities.

Over the last three years, we've made significant progress in improving the energy efficiency of our homes, delivering nearly zero-energy buildings and strengthening our environmental practices.

We're proud of what we've achieved so far and remain committed to building a greener, more sustainable future for our tenants, residents and communities.

Last week, we welcomed tenants, residents and staff to The Waterfoot Hotel in for our annual Tenant Celebration Event.

The day was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our tenants and residents, reflect on a successful year of tenant engagement, and launch our new Tenant & Resident Engagement Strategy 2026–2029.

Guests also had the chance to speak with our Welfare Advice Team and Right Support Right Time service, receive free health checks from @ Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum, and visit @ Arthritis UK Northern Ireland at their information stand. 💙

A highlight of the event was the presentation of our 2026 Unsung Hero Awards, recognising tenants and residents who make a real difference in their neighbourhoods. 🏆

The celebrations were rounded off with a delicious lunch and fantastic entertainment from Liam Atcheson and Micky Doherty. 🎶

🏡 Last week, we were delighted to hand over the keys to 23 new homes at Maple Glen - the first neighbourhood within the ambitious ‘The Cashel’ development, located between Ballymagroarty and Coshquin in .

The initial phase of this growing community will deliver 421 new homes for local families, with the first 100 homes expected to be completed in 2026.

With more homes planned in the years ahead, Apex is proud to continue helping individuals and families find a place to call home - creating communities where people thrive.

🗨️ “It is the best feeling in the world. All the trauma, anguish and despair was worth it for that day - just to stand in that house and say, this is now ours.”
