📢 FREE BUS TRAVEL AT ANY TIME FOR DISABLED PASS HOLDERS 🚌

When I posted about free bus travel for young people earlier this month, several people quite rightly pointed out that disabled bus passes are restricted at certain times.

I’m pleased to share that the Labour Government has stepped in to change this.

From 1 April 2027, disabled concessionary bus pass holders across England will be able to travel for free at any time of day, whenever local buses are running.

So, if you need to catch a bus before 9.30am for a morning appointment, your pass will cover it.

Thank you to everyone who raised this with me. This change will give disabled people more freedom over when they travel and remove a barrier from everyday life.

🚨 NEW: Derby is getting a dedicated mental health emergency department.

When somebody reaches crisis point, they deserve specialist help quickly – not a long wait in a busy A&E.

That’s why Labour Party is opening a new department at Royal Derby Hospital, providing fast, same-day specialist support for adults experiencing a mental health crisis.

People will be assessed quickly in a calm, therapeutic environment and connected with the right ongoing care. It means getting the right help in the right place while also easing pressure on A&E.

The department at the Radbourne Unit, Royal Derby Hospital will be one of 59 opening through Labour’s £343 million investment and the biggest redesign of adult mental health services in a generation.

I’m really glad Derby will benefit. This Government is rebuilding an NHS that is there for people when they need it.
