Cheviot Street Recreation Ground – Have Your Say!

Derby City Council has funding to improve the play area and multi sports goal end at Cheviot Street Recreation Ground, Mackworth. Your feedback from the initial consultation helped us shape the design brief — and we’re excited to share that we now have two design options ready for you to review.

🌿 Be tick aware when enjoying Derby’s parks
The risk is low, but ticks can be found in parks, woodlands and other greenspaces, particularly in longer vegetation.
After enjoying the outdoors, it’s worth giving yourself, children and pets a quick check. If you find a tick, remove it promptly and safely using fine-tipped tweezers or a tick-removal tool.
A little awareness goes a long way, keep enjoying Derby’s fantastic greenspaces! 🌳💚

What a difference a week makes in terms of weather! 🥵⛈️

It was a very hot day last Thursday, but it didn't stop a team from Rolls-Royce from edging over 100 meters of the path at Osmaston Park, widening the route around the play area - well done to all involved & a huge thank you!!! 🤩🤩🤩

🎉 The new play area at Elvaston Lane Recreation Ground is now OPEN! 🎉

There’s plenty for children to enjoy, including:
🧗 Climbing units
🚡 Zip wire
🎠 A range of swings
🤸 Trampoline
🙃 Somersault bars
🌀 Spinning play elements
⚽ Two small 5-a-side goals on the wider site

We’re also waiting for a spare part for the inclusive swing seat. This will be installed as soon as possible.

We hope local families enjoy the new facilities! 💚
