Gayton Swimming Pool

Gayton Swimming Pool is 17m by 7.5m pool with depths up to 1.2m. Gayton Swimming Pool opened for courses and lessons on 4th January 2011.

It is 17m by 7.5m pool with depths up to 1.2m particularly suitable for younger children and disabled swimmers, the water is normally at a temperature of 30 to 31C. There is a full programme of use including Children’s Lessons, Schools Sessions, Baby Sessions, Public swimming with Ladies Only and Men Only times and Aqua Fit Water Exercise. It will be open every day. We are looking for other users,

particularly local groups and clubs who want some water time. The pool will be operated on behalf of Derby City Council by Gayton Pool Limited which is a subsidiary of the Lonsdale Swimming & Sports Trust, a Registered Charity. Gayton Pool is operated with trained lifeguards certificated to National Pool Lifeguard Qualification standards by the Royal Life Saving Society for your safety.

A few weeks ago, we were delighted to host the STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming at Lonsdale Pool.

It was fantastic to see many aspiring swimming teachers develop their knowledge, skills and confidence throughout the course. We'd like to congratulate everyone who successfully completed the qualification and thank them for all of their hard work and commitment.

We wish you all the very best for the future and hope you enjoy helping swimmers of all ages build confidence in the water and develop a skill for life.

The countdown to a new school year is on!

As the summer holidays begin to wind down, now is the perfect time to get ready for the new term. Swimming lessons are a great way for children to build confidence, stay active and continue developing an important life skill throughout the school year.

At Lonsdale & Gayton Pools, we still have lesson spaces available for a range of ages and abilities, from beginners taking their first strokes to swimmers looking to progress.

What a fantastic summer it's been!

Over the past few weeks, we've loved welcoming so many children to our Summer Swimming Crash Courses at Lonsdale Pool. It has been brilliant to see swimmers of all abilities growing in confidence, developing new skills and making great progress in such a short space of time.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to all the parents and carers for your continued support. Our instructors have enjoyed every minute of helping the next generation of swimmers.
