I thought we had it bad in Alvaston but while canvassing in Sinfin recently residents were complaining that this grass has only been cut once and had reached over three feet tall. The weeds along the road and pavement are also a major issue and causing expensive structural damage. This city has never looked so bad. elections can't come soon enough.

It's a shame that fly tipping is a constant blight at these bins. If you see things like this then please let me know and I'll report it for investigation and removal. Due to repeated problems I asked for these bins to be removed a few months ago and the process is due to complete shortly.

The dead tree has also been reported.

Despite my best efforts yesterday the Labour party pushed through their local plan that proposes building houses on Shaftsbury Park, a Greenfield site in Chellaston, a school field in Sunny Hill and a permanent travelers site on the park at Wilmorton. This plan has been in the making for four years but many of my views have been completely ignored over this period. I'm hoping that by time this is agreed with government they will not have enough time to bring this to bear. Elections are next year and it looks like Derby City Council itself will be replaced in 2028. It can't come soon enough.

We've had lots of news over the last few months of small pots of funding for various parts of the city and a slightly improved settlement from the government for this years budget. Now we have news that the Labour government have just ripped £600,000,000 pounds of funding from Derby by cancelling infrastructure projects in the area. That makes Derby at least £550,000,000 worse off. Ouch. The A38 project is going back out for a quick consultation. We will update you with a link when it goes live so that you can express your views.
