Year 2 Trip to Manchester Science and Industry Museum
Year 2 had a fantastic time on their visit to the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester! The children enjoyed investigating the interactive exhibits and learning about a wide range of machines and inventions. One of the highlights was discovering one of the world's first computers and exploring how technology has changed over time.

A wonderful day of curiosity, exploration and learning for all! πŸš‚πŸ’‘πŸ–₯️

πŸŒβ„οΈ Year 4 are beginning an exciting new topic all about Antarctica! To kick-start their learning, they recapped all seven continents and challenged themselves to order them from biggest to smallest. They thoroughly enjoyed singing the continents song they first learnt back in Year 1 and impressed us with how much they remembered! πŸŽΆπŸ—ΊοΈ

🏰✨ Year 5 had a fantastic trip to Turton Tower as part of our The Terrible Tudors topic!
During the visit, we learned all about life in Tudor times, including what people ate, what they wore, how they slept, and how they entertained themselves. Exploring the historic building brought our learning to life and gave us a fascinating insight into the daily lives of people from the Tudor period.
A wonderful day full of discovery, history, and hands-on learning! πŸ‘‘πŸ“œ

πŸ“Έ πŸ† ⚽️ A huge congratulations to Aaron & Henry in Year 6, and the rest of the Blackburn with Darwen Town Team players, for their outstanding achievement this season!

Representing both their individual schools and the Blackburn with Darwen district, the boys were crowned Lancashire District Champions after a fantastic performance in the district final at Darwen FC during the half-term break.

Aaron and Henry have been excellent ambassadors for Ashleigh throughout the season, and the whole team produced a superb display in the final, securing a brilliant 3–0 victory over Chorley. πŸ‘πŸ»

What a wonderful achievement and a moment to be incredibly proud of! We are extremely proud of you both 🌟 πŸ”΅πŸŸ‘

Did you know that the years between ages 2 and 6 are some of the most important for language development?

The conversations children have every day help to build the foundations for learning, reading, friendships and emotional wellbeing. From sharing stories and singing songs to talking about feelings and exploring new words, every interaction makes a difference.

Developing strong language skills before starting school helps children feel confident, communicate their needs, build relationships and engage successfully in learning.

As parents and carers, you are your child's first and most important teacher. Taking time to chat, listen and read together can have a lasting impact on their future success.

Take a look at this helpful guide from National College for practical tips and ideas to support your child's language development and school readiness

πŸŽ‰ A lovely celebration in Year 4 this afternoon! πŸŽ‰

After a fantastic term of hard work, the children enjoyed celebrating Miss Draisey’s 30th birthday with a little party together in class. πŸ₯³πŸŽ‚

We would also like to wish both Miss Draisey and Mrs Wood a very Happy Birthday as we celebrate two special birthday milestones in school this week! 🎈

Well done to Year 4 for all of their effort this term β€” a wonderful way to celebrate together! ⭐
