This Carers Week, we would like to acknowledge all the unpaid Carers in our community who are among 5.8 million people in the UK caring for a family member, partner, friend, or neighbour. Unpaid Carers provide essential help that too often goes unrecognised.

Many carers don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities. They make a huge contribution to families and communities, and many feel unsupported.

We can help Carers to access much-needed support with signposting and practical help such as assisting with benefit claims and housing issues. Our timetable of groups and activities are open to everyone and provide opportunity for Carers to look after their own wellbeing, to connect with others and take time out from caring responsibilities.

For more information on how we can support you, please call 01803 835384 or email [email protected].

Heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes to the staff and patrons of Lloyd Attree Jewellers in Dartmouth, for supporting us for many, many years.

Customers buying a replacement watch battery are encouraged by the wonderful staff at Lloyd Attree to donate to Dartmouth Caring in lieu of payment, and in the last 12 months alone this has raised the fabulous sum of £215.

We are so grateful to Lloyd Attree for being a long-term supporter and for helping others to support us too. This money raised goes directly back into our community to help those in need.

Lloyd Attree, 5 Duke Street, sell beautiful pieces of jewellery and will take care of watch, clock, and jewellery repairs.

When you hear laughter and joy coming from the Health & Wellbeing Centre on a Tuesday morning, it will be our merry band of Memory Café Volunteers!

We would like to say a huge thank you to Jan, Beryl, Maggie, Ellie, Marion, Linda and Sarah for their cheerfulness, compassion and commitment, making such a difference for our Memory Café clients and their carers.

More Volunteer "thank you's" today and we are sharing our gratitude to the Souper Thursday team who are Jim, Sam, Kate, Debbie, and Charlie.

Pictured are Kate (L) and Debbie (R).
For a year and a half, Kate has done a fantastic job of welcoming our guests for Thursday lunch, serving everyone, clearing away and generally making sure everyone is well-looked after. Thank you Kate.

Debbie joined our Volunteer team 8 months ago as Kitchen Assistant and she makes sure our kitchen is clean and ship-shape once lunch is finished...always with a smile. Thank you Debbie.

We are very lucky to have 100 Volunteers at Dartmouth Caring and grateful that they choose to give their time to work with us. What a difference they make.

Thank you to ALL our Volunteers.
