Loneliness can affect anyone at any stage of life, and sometimes all it takes is a friendly conversation, a listening ear, or knowing someone is there to make a difference 💛

During Loneliness Awareness Week (15th–21st June), Home-Start North West Kent is proud to support the message that no family should feel alone.

We are here to support parents and families across North West Kent, helping build confidence, connections, and brighter futures through the power of community and friendship.

Together, we can give loneliness a voice — and remind people they are never alone 💜

Many dads worry about getting parenting "right".

The good news? Babies don't need perfect parents.

Attunement isn't about responding perfectly every time. It's about noticing, repairing and reconnecting when things don't go to plan.

Strong relationships are built through thousands of everyday moments of connection- not perfection.

Attunement doesn't happen in one big moment.

It grows through everyday interactions:
👀 Making eye contact
😊 Sharing smiles
🗣️ Talking and singing
🤗 Offering comfort
🎮 Playing together

These small moments help babies learn that they are seen, understood and valued.

This Infant Mental Health Awareness Week, take a moment to slow down, tune in and connect.

Infant Mental Health Week (8-14 June)

Research shows us that our first 1001 days are the most important. Even though we don’t remember much of it as adults, our experiences as babies shape who we are.

Before we talk, we are developing confidence, self esteem, physical skills and connections with others.

Having good infant mental health lays down the foundations for all future development, allowing us to build healthier adult brains.

Our early intervention at Home-Start acts as a building block for a child’s development.

Infant Mental Health Week | 8th – 14th June 💚

The theme for is ‘Attunement’ — but what does that actually mean?

In simple terms, attunement is about being ‘in tune’ with your baby. It’s the way you notice, understand and respond to their feelings, needs and emotions through everyday moments of connection 💕

A cuddle, eye contact, talking, singing or comforting your baby when they’re upset all help build strong emotional bonds and support healthy development.

Every little interaction matters.
