Brookes and Bigfoot playing hungry hippos with floating mealworms 😂😅.

Bigfoot needs to hurry up and grow his tail back. (He is a white wing, metabolic bone disease rehabilitation case)

They may both look like crows, but Brookes is a Rook, and Bigfoot is a crow.

They are like a terrible twosome, bags, cardboard, blankets, towels, the bloody mail, all gets shredded 🥲. I can't even leave a bin bag within reach of these two cause you can guarantee 10 minutes later there'll be multiple holes in it lmao. Leaving any food within their reach is a big no no too, they are typical corvids and will steal it.

This is zoomed in, BF very much isn't friendly with me, he would rather not interact with me at all. He does have an aviary placement arranged but I worry for Brookes when he leaves to be honest. They are bonded and do absolutely everything together :/.

Pippi shooketh I am stood above her but refusing to move her bum out of the way 😂🥲

Some of the birds here are confident and will let me close to them, others won't, Pippi grew up and was raised here so is quite at home. She had issues with feather growth as a youngster and didn't even learn to fly until her next moult came through. Despite great nutrition and extra supplements, her feathers just kept snapping, they were shorter than normal, and very brittle.

Her sibling Peanut is perfectly normal and never had any issues at all, she actually lives with an adopter of ours Wendy, her partner and another pigeon from us called Daisy. Peanut was just too tame to release 😅.

Pippin has a few features that make her unusual, she is very round, like overly round with a short neck, her tail is a little bit shorter than a normal pigeons, and she does have stubby wings too. She can fly now but it isn't the strongest flight so once fully cleared she will be moved to the other aviary that's a but more natural. This loft is designed for physically disabled birds or birds that need a lot of maintenance, so there's really no reason for her to really stay in this one.

The tiny little duckling with the bad leg you rescued 🙈?

This is him now, he is doing absolutely wonderfully!

However, if you can't tell, he is significantly bigger than his wild counterparts (that could easily fly off but refuse to leave the property, the freeloaders 😅) so we are sure that his momma adopted him from somewhere along her travels... 😂 We believe him to be a Rouen Duck or a mix of one.

If there's any other massive "mallards" around Stanhope/weardale at the moment its probably a sibling to this chunk. Even his face and neck scream domestic rouen!

Apparently I am cruel for bathing my pigeons in their aviary and they live in terrible condition that need reporting.

But this guy thinks this is clean?

Dried piles in their nest boxes, in the corners, on the perches, s**t trodden down and dried to the floor, a literal rim of f***l build up on the cable roll he has his grit tub set on, that also looks like it has hever been cleaned since being put in there. Walls covered in urates.

Now, I am not saying this is neglect, honestly, there are far worse ways people keep pigeons and do daily. This is minimal build up for the amount of birds, improvements could most definitely be made though.

What I am saying, is you need to focus on your own pigeons and cleaning up after them rather than a rescue allowing their pigeons to sit of their own accord in a mist of water.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones 🪨

He can fly and is weaned but it won't stop him from begging.

He currently has a habit of standing in the water bowl to drink so always has a soppy tail to wipe across my face 🥲

Good ol racing stripes, he still has yet to grow his head feathers back after his rejection by the foster parents bless him
