405 - Darlington RAF Air Cadets

A message from His Majesty The King for National Cadets Week. 🇬🇧

Across Central & East Yorkshire Wing, we see every week the difference the cadet experience can make. Young people developing confidence, learning new skills, taking on responsibility and discovering what they are capable of.

None of that happens without the commitment behind them.

To our cadets, our volunteers who give their time, the families and employers who support them, and everyone who helps make these opportunities possible, thank you.

We’re incredibly proud to play our part in the wider UK Cadet Forces community and in helping the next generation to thrive.

A proud moment for the 405 family during National Cadets Week!

Last night, Cadet Cooper was awarded a Regional Commandant's Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding actions in assisting a member of the public who was experiencing a medical emergency.

Using the first aid skills gained through the RAF Air Cadets, Cadet Cooper stepped forward when it mattered most, demonstrating the confidence, compassion and sense of service that cadets develop through their training.

This recognition is thoroughly deserved, and we couldn't be prouder of him.

Congratulations, on an outstanding achievement and for being such a fantastic ambassador for the squadron.

Huge thanks to everyone who made last night’s 405 Squadron Open Evening such a success.

Our cadets did a brilliant job showcasing the wide range of activities they take part in from aviation and STEM to fieldcraft, leadership and adventure training.

It was fantastic to welcome so many visitors and share what life in the RAF Air Cadets is all about.

We’re now looking ahead to our Intake Night on 12th October, and there’s still time to register your interest if you’d like to join the 405 family.
