The Church Wardens have applied to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to close the graveyard at Heighington Church.

Any objections or comments need to be made to the MOJ by the 21st September.

The Parish Council request that any queries be directed towards the Church Wardens.

Looking for fun, free ways to keep the kids active and entertained this summer? We’ve got you covered!
In partnership with Hopetown ‘Let the Games Begin’, Arts Council England, and Darlington Borough Council’s Move More team, FREE sports and team activities are coming directly to Heighington – sports pitches!

The Parish Council would like to thank Councillor Childs for organising a very successful music festival in Heighington on Saturday.
We would also like to thank Councillor Towers and the Events Team for all of their hard work and help and the sponsors for their financial support to help us fund the event.
Lastly we would like to thank all those who attended and supported this event.
We hope everyone had a good time.

Come down to South Park this week and pick up free winter bedding plants!

Our gardeners are stripping the plants ready for summer planting and are inviting residents to take some for their gardens, yardens or community spaces.

Plants will be lifted out of the ground and left on the sides of the beds from tomorrow (Tues 12) until Tuesday 19 May (not including the weekend) from 10.30am-2pm.

Thank you to our horticulture team and dedicated volunteers for organising the donations and their continuous hard work to make our parks and green spaces look fantastic all year round.

The Parish Council would like to extend their sincere thanks to John, our Environmental Warden, for his dedicated service over the past 17 years. John has now retired, and we wish him all the very best for the future.
