Furness Armed Forces Community Support

Furness Armed Forces Community Support Provides virtual and physical Furness AF Community Support Hub, to support the Armed Forces Families

In Furness, we are proud to support the men & women and their families of the Armed Forces and Wider Community in Furness, not only whilst they're serving but also in their civilian lives. We know this can be daunting and this is why we have put together these webpages. Here, you will find information, advice and guidance and a dedicated service of support to veterans of the armed forces and their

families to assist with their transition back to civilian life and the challenges that presents, through signposting, group and one to one support, shared experiences and as a focal point for assessment and referral to specialist advice and support.

About

Dalton Community Association (DCA) is a small local charity which operates in the building formally known as the Drill Hall. The Association is managed by local trustees who are tireless enthusiasts involved in a 10 year project to turn the towns decaying pre-war municipal hall into a state of the art community centre, which the trustees and volunteers were awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services in 2018.

Dalton Community Centre is establishing a Veterans virtual and physical community support hub, to the Armed Forces Families and the Wider Community in the Furness Area, to provide a user friendly and relevant integrated media platforms which will offer support, advice & guidance as well as authorised links to supporting charities and organisations, which will benefit the community, including those who are living in rural areas, or find it difficult leaving their homes.
