OPEN NIGHT FEBRUARY 16th, 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Dalry community fire station will be holding an open night to allow members of the public who are interested on joining the Scottish fire and rescue service as an on call firefighter the ability to view the station and as an opportunity to meet members of the crew and ask any relevant questions regarding life as an on call firefighter and the application process.

❗️Open night Monday 3rd March 2025❗️

Dalry community fire station is open to the public from 6:30-9:30pm. This is an opportunity for those who are interested in applying or are in the process of applying for the role of on call firefighter. We aim to give you a station tour, a look at our fire appliance with the kit & equipment that the Scottish fire and rescue service use to keep our communities safe. This is also a great opportunity to speak to staff members and ask any relevant questions on the job role as well as the application process. 🚒

Key roles and responsibilities of an on call firefighter👇🏼

- Attend a weekly drill night.

- weekly checks of the fire appliance and equipment.

- keeping communities safe.

- working alongside partnered emergency services.

- responding to emergencies via a pager system.

- carrying out home fire safety visits.

- continuation training courses.

As much as the Grinch was an absolute pest last Sunday he’s fully supportive of trying to get more recruits for our station

We need more On-Call Firefighters to protect the Muirkirk community and surrounding areas.

They are paid to respond to emergencies via a pager 📟 during agreed hours so that the workers can balance their primary employment and their family life.
