Midlothian council has approved its Local Housing Strategy for 2026/27–2030/31. This is a five‑year plan to improve housing quality, increase access to affordable homes and support sustainable, well‑designed communities.

The Strategy has been developed with extensive community input and sets out key priorities including tackling homelessness, supporting independent living, improving energy efficiency and reducing fuel poverty.

🏠 We’re making billing fairer for homes connected to the Waverley District Heat Network in Bonnyrigg by switching to metered billing for heating.

📝 If you’re connected to the heat network, you can learn more about what this means for your home by attending our drop-in session.

🌟 Do you live in Dalkeith? 🌟

We’re starting our annual Estate Walkabouts programme in Dalkeith next week.

The walkabouts are a great chance for our communities to tell us about what matters most to them. Housing Officers and local councillors will be attending to listen and answer questions.
