A little update about our four beautiful Cherry Valley ducks. 🦆❤️

Since March, these four little characters have been part of life here at the Manor. We’ve cared for them, loved them and thoroughly enjoyed watching their personalities develop. They became such a lovely part of the grounds and were always a favourite with visitors.

However, following the recent incidents involving people entering the grounds and the damage to the property, we’ve had to make a very difficult decision.

Their safety has to come first, and we simply weren’t prepared to take any chances with them. So, as sad as we are to see them go, our four girls have now been rehomed.

And we genuinely couldn’t have wished for a better home for them. ❤️

They are now living on a beautiful 12-acre smallholding just outside Tenby, surrounded by other animals and with people who are completely passionate about their care. We’ve already received photos and a lovely video of them happily exploring one of their new ponds, and it’s wonderful to see them settling in.

There are even holiday lets on the smallholding and we’ve been invited to go and stay and visit them, so hopefully this won’t be the last we see of our girls.

It was incredibly sad saying goodbye, but knowing they are safe, happy and have such a wonderful life ahead of them makes the decision much easier.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contacted us over the last few days with kind words, messages and offers of support. It has genuinely meant a great deal to both of us.

Today we’re regrouping and dealing with the temporary repairs needed to secure and protect the Manor. This coming week we’ll begin looking at the longer-term plan for dealing with the damage and deciding how we move forward from here.

For now, we’re taking things one day at a time.

Thank you again for standing behind us and for caring about the Manor and everything we’ve been trying to create here.

Tracey & Nigel ❤️

⚠️ COMMUNITY AWARENESS – LLANYRAFON

We wanted to make local residents aware of an increase in antisocial behaviour in the area.

As local residents ourselves, we’ve experienced problems throughout the summer, particularly around the fields on the opposite side of the river from Llanyrafon Manor. Sadly, over the last few weeks this has increased, and for the past three nights the Manor itself has been repeatedly targeted.

Since Wednesday, we’ve had sustained vandalism including damage to doors, historic windows, Bat Cottage and property within the grounds. Last night, entry was gained to a storage area adjoining Bat Cottage, bottles of alcohol were stolen and an attempt was made to drag a locked chest through a window in the parlour. The chest contained nothing of any significant monetary value to anyone else, just my personal spiritual items which I use for the classes and workshops I hold on site. Objects have also been thrown at upper-storey windows, including Florence’s window.

It’s incredibly upsetting to see deliberate damage being caused to such an historic building. We are already putting a huge amount of time, work and money into restoring and caring for the Manor, where repairs to historic features are often far from straightforward.

We have been working closely with the police over the last few days and are currently awaiting the crime scene team today. Police have also confirmed that they received calls from other local residents around the same time, reporting antisocial behaviour in the area surrounding the Manor. Further security measures are now being put in place.

We’d personally like to thank our neighbour Alan, a retired police officer, for his assistance, and Councillor David Williams, who attended the Manor yesterday. Alan has also been on site helping us today, and we genuinely appreciate their support.

A private hire paranormal team is staying at the Manor overnight tonight. We gave them the option to cancel following the recent incidents, but they have chosen to continue with their booking, so the property will be occupied overnight.

We’re sharing this to make our neighbours and the wider community aware. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious or destructive behaviour you witness.

Thank you to everyone who has contacted us and offered support. It really is appreciated.

🦇 What a Wonderful Bat Watch Evening at Llanyrafon Manor Farm! 🦇

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our Bat Watch Evening at Llanyrafon Manor Farm. We had a fantastic turnout of 22 people, and it was such a pleasure to welcome you all.

The evening began with time inside the Manor, where everyone had the opportunity to explore the house and learn more about its fascinating history and centuries of heritage before we headed outside for the Bat Watch.

Once darkness began to fall, everyone took turns using the bat detectors, forming little groups along the way, sharing what they were picking up and getting to know one another. It was lovely to see people learning together, comparing their findings and new friendships forming throughout the evening.

And what an evening for bats! 🦇

Together we documented seven different species of bat, some of which we’ve included in the detector screenshots and photographs in this post.

One moment in particular took us all completely by surprise. We had one of the closest bat encounters we’ve ever experienced at the Manor, as a common pipistrelle suddenly emerged from our enormous Virginia creeper, darting out from amongst the leaves incredibly close to us.

It was a wonderful opportunity to see these beautiful animals at such close quarters and to learn more about the wildlife that shares this historic site with us.

It was also particularly lovely to welcome the Llanyrafon Brownies, who came along to learn about our bats and the importance of protecting their habitats. 🌿🦇

Events like this are about much more than one evening. Every person who visits and supports us helps us to continue caring for Llanyrafon Manor Farm, preserving its history and protecting the wonderful natural environment and wildlife we are so fortunate to have here.

To all 22 of you who joined us — thank you. It was a genuinely lovely evening of history, wildlife, learning, conversation and new friendships.

We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Manor again soon. 💚

A big thank you to our weekend retreat guests! 🏰

We had a lovely group of paranormal enthusiasts who privately hired the manor from Friday to Monday for their own retreat, and we’re so pleased to hear they thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

The group had previously hired our other property, Hanbury Haunted Hotel & Museum in Pontypool, and when they discovered they could also hire the manor, they were delighted to book another retreat with us.

It’s wonderful to see our guests exploring and shopping in the local area, bringing tourism into Llanyravon and supporting local businesses along the way. We’re proud to be able to bring visitors and tourism to both Pontypool and Llanyravon through our properties.

Thank you all for coming, supporting the manor, and making the most of your stay. We’re looking forward to welcoming more paranormal retreat groups in the future.

Thank you all, and we hope to see you again soon! ❤️

🦇 Thank You for Joining Us at Our Bat Watch Evening!🦇

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Bat Watch Evening last night. It was lovely to see so many of you joining us, and especially wonderful to see so many children enjoying themselves while learning more about these fascinating creatures.

We recorded five different bat species during the evening. Although it wasn’t our biggest species count, we still had a fantastic time and were lucky enough to encounter some really interesting bats, including some of our regular visitors as well as a few of the rarer species.

It was a pleasure having you all with us, and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with everyone throughout the evening. Thank you once again for coming along and making it such an enjoyable night. We hope to see you all again very soon! 🦇❤️

And don’t forget to visit us at our other property, Hambry Arms Haunted Hotel and Museum in Pontypool, where there’s plenty more to discover!

Best wishes,
Tracy & Nigel 🦇

ENTER AFTER DARK… Five-Hour Ghost Hunt at Llanravan Manor Farm

When the doors close and the lights go out, Llanravan Manor Farm does not sleep. This Tudor manor has stood for centuries—watching, listening, remembering. Long after the last footsteps should have faded, others are still heard. Voices whisper where no one stands. Shapes move where shadows should not. On this night, you are invited to stay.

WHAT AWAKENS HERE?

Investigators and guests report:

• Heavy footsteps pacing empty rooms

• Doors opening and closing on their own

• Sudden chills, and breath in the dark

• Disembodied voices calling out names

• Shadow figures watching from doorways

• Intelligent responses during vigils

This is not theatre. This is a live paranormal investigation.

HOW THE NIGHT BEGINS

After a safety briefing and a chilling introduction to the manor’s history and activity, the entire group will investigate together in the imposing Tudor Hall. As the lights are extinguished and equipment is activated, you’ll take part in a full group investigation, listening, calling out, and waiting for something to answer back. Later in the night, you will be split into smaller groups and placed in different areas of the manor—alone with the dark, where activity has been repeatedly reported.

EQUIPMENT & THE DARK

• Professional paranormal equipment provided and set up throughout the building

• Vigils with experienced paranormal investigators and free time to conduct your own.
