In the woods, our titles don’t matter. The labels we carry in the urban jungle begin to disappear beneath the trees. Here, everyone brings something different to the tribe.✨

During our shelter-building sessions at Camp Wildfire, strangers work together towards one shared goal. Someone gathers, someone builds, someone problem-solves, someone encourages, everyone contributes.

We’re so accustomed to thinking separately, yet nature shows us another way. Trees, fungi and entire ecosystems thrive through connection and collaboration. 🍄🌳

Perhaps we can learn something from that.

Different people. Different strengths. One tribe, working together. 🌿🔥

I sleep more deeply outdoors than I ever seem to indoors.

I’ve become accustomed to being among the trees, waking to birdsong and falling asleep to the sound of owls calling through the darkness. I love watching the trees become silhouettes against the fading light at dusk.

The more time I spend outside, the harder it becomes to return to four walls. Indoors, my energy can feel stagnant and contained. Outside, it flows, like a river, always moving, changing and finding its way.

Nothing in nature is truly still. The wind moves through the branches, water follows the land, birds cross the sky and the seasons are forever turning.

My environment shapes how I feel, how I think and how I move through the world.

I don’t want to live inside a box anymore.

Give me trees, open skies, birdsong and the sound of an owl somewhere in the darkness. 🌿🌳

Swap screens, city streets and the usual weekend routine for four hours of woodland skills 🌿

Join Wildeye Adventures in a beautiful private woodland in Croydon, South London, for a hands-on Family Bushcraft Day designed for adults and children to learn, explore and take on challenges together.

🌿 Build an emergency tarp shelter
💧 Create your own survival water filter
🔪 Learn introductory bushcraft knife skills
🍄 Discover useful trees, plants & fungi
🧭 Take on a family survival & orienteering challenge
🤝 Work together, solve problems and get your hands muddy!

This isn't about sitting on the sidelines while the children take part, parents and carers get involved too.

Bushcraft is a brilliant way for families to build confidence, curiosity, teamwork and practical skills while spending meaningful time together outdoors.
No previous bushcraft experience is needed and you don't need expensive outdoor equipment. Just arrive ready for an adventure 😁

Join Wildeye Adventures and Down in the Woods Ltd for an Overnight Bushcraft & Survival Course in a beautiful private woodland in Dorking, Surrey.

You don't need any previous bushcraft or survival experience to join us. Beginners are very welcome.

Over approximately 26 hours, we'll slow things down, get hands-on and explore practical skills including:

💧 Water filtration & purification
🪢 Bushcraft knots
🌿 Useful trees, plants & fungi
⛺ Camp & shelter skills

As darkness falls, we'll gather around the communal campfire, prepare a warming vegetable stew and survival bread together, share stories and settle in for a November night beneath the trees.

Bring your own tent or hire a hammock & tarp setup for £20 and experience sleeping between the trees.

This isn't about being an expert or proving how tough you are.

It's about learning practical skills, building confidence outdoors, reconnecting with nature and experiencing the woodland after everyone else has gone home.

Thank you from Wildeye Adventures 😁

Thank you to everyone who joined Wildeye for the Shelter Building Activities at Camp Wildfire this weekend! 🏕️🌳

It was great to see so many people getting stuck in, working together and creating some fantastic woodland shelters.

And a special shout-out to our Saturday shelter builders! 🌧️ You certainly got the full bushcraft experience. The rain didn't dampen anyone's enthusiasm, if anything, it made shelter building even more appropriate! There’s no better weather for testing whether your shelter actually works. 😁

We loved seeing everyone sharing ideas, problem-solving, learning about the woodland and working together as a little forest community.

Wildeye always has a fun time hosting the sessions and hope everyone is left with some newfound nature knowledge, happy memories and muddy mossy hands. But mostly inspiration to continue learning about bushcraft, survival skills and connecting with the natural world. 🌿🔥
