Cropredy Parish Council
Result of Opinion Survey on the Proposed Development North of the Village between Kyetts Corner and the Marina.
The count of responses has been completed. Responses were received from 250 parishioners. This amounts to an estimated 42% of the adult (18 years old and over) population of Cropredy.
Of those residents who responded:
15% were in support.
85% were opposed.
Therefore, the Chairman of Cropredy Parish Council will attend the Cherwell Planning Committee meeting on the 7th of September and will report that the PC opposes the outline planning application for residential development, referring to the reasons as set out by the PC in the opinion poll leaflet and planning portal, including concerns raised by parishioners.
As the Planning application to the south of the village by the school was withdrawn during the opinion survey, the results are unlikely to be a true representation and so have not been counted.

We found out yesterday that Cherwell Planning Committee are wanting to hear the application for development by the Schoolby on July 13th. This has come as a surprise to both us and the developers Nicholas King as both of us had requested it be heard in September, we both were given the indication this would happen. Our Clerk contacted Cherwell again and we now know the application for development will go ahead on July 13th. Search Cherwell Planning Committee go on browse meetings, scroll down until you see application and there will be the officer's report. It has very strong recommendations for the Committee to follow, so we have been advised attendance of Cropredy Parish Council will add no further clarification to the application. Therefore the meeting on the 17th is now cancelled.

Update from Obsidian Strategic

The consultation on the proposals from Obsidian for the land just north of Cropredy has now received comments from 48 people, in addition to those raised in person at the consultation event, all of which are now being read and considered in detail by the project team.

While they had to name a date to close the consultation to start this consideration process, if anyone has not submitted their thoughts yet, please do so ASAP – they will still consider comments that come in during this next period of work.

Obsidian will come back to the Parish Council to discuss the outcome of this consultation at a later date.

Advice From Obsidian

"Consultation responses are being received through the webform on the website - we have had a few come through just today, in fact, and I have done a test to ensure that it is working.

If someone gets a 'Thanks for submitting!' message when they click submit, then it will have come through to us.

If people are concerned about using the webform, they can email this account instead or as well."
