At Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau, we run a friendly Knit & Natter group every Tuesday morning from 10:30am–12:00pm, bringing people together to knit, chat, and support their local community.
We are delighted to share that our wonderful group of ladies has knitted an incredible 96 Trauma Teddies, Some of which have now been donated to Crickhowell Fire Brigade and Brecon Mountain Rescue and Longtown Mountain Rescue.
Trauma Teddies are small knitted teddy bears given to children who may be feeling frightened, distressed, or overwhelmed following an accident, emergency, or other traumatic event. Emergency service personnel can give them to children to provide comfort, reassurance, and a familiar object to hold during a difficult time.
This fantastic achievement is a testament to the kindness, generosity, and community spirit of everyone involved. We are so proud of our Knit & Natter group and grateful for the time and care that has gone into creating these special teddies, which will bring comfort to children when they need it most.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible. ❤️🧸
