The number 44 bus runs Monday to Friday, travelling from Over Stratton to Yeovil and returning from Yeovil to Over Stratton once each day.

Whether you are travelling for shopping, appointments or simply a trip out, please consider using this valuable local service.

Wessex Water Update

Hosepipe Ban starts on Tuesday 18 August at 00:01hrs.

Following a period of record breaking heatwaves and lower-than-average rainfall, our water supply network is under increasing pressure.

We've seen record levels of demand for water and with more hot weather to come and no significant rain forecast, we've made the difficult decision to introduce a hosepipe ban.

The hosepipe ban starts on Tuesday 18 August at 00:01hrs. From this point customers must not use a hosepipe for activities covered by the restrictions.

Who is affected

The hosepipe ban applies to all customers in our region who we supply with water.

Customers with a valid exemption are not affected by the ban.

Please be aware that we have received a notification of a TTRN (urgent) road closure at High Street, West Coker which will commence on 17th August 2026 - 17th August 2026 (09:30 - 15:30) for a total of 6 hours.
This will enable Arboricare Ltd to carry out tree felling works.
The contractor has indicated that access for Emergency Services through the site is permitted on this occasion.
