🌊 Kayaking Success! 🚣‍♀️

We had an amazing time out sit-on kayaking with our young people and wow, they absolutely smashed it! 🙌

Everyone showed fantastic determination, supported each other, and stepped out of their comfort zones.

Through the session, they developed so many important skills, including:
✨ Teamwork & communication
✨ Confidence-building
✨ Resilience and perseverance
✨ Water safety awareness
✨ Coordination and paddling technique
✨ Problem-solving and independence

We’re so proud of how well they all did, such a positive, memorable experience for everyone involved even if YW Lauren fell in within the first 5 minutes 🤣! 👏

🎨✨ Creative vibes last night! ✨🎨

Our young people got hands-on with clay, bringing their ideas to life and creating amazing little animals 🐰🐶🐢 Each piece was unique, showing off their creativity, imagination, and growing confidence 💭💡

It was great to see everyone supporting each other, sharing ideas, and just enjoying the process. Activities like this aren’t just fun – they’re a brilliant way to relax, express emotions, and build connections 🤝💙

We love seeing creativity in action! 👏

Yesterday we kicked off our Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programme: a government‑funded initiative that gives children and young people access to fun activities, new experiences, and nutritious food during the school holidays.

And what a day it was.

We jumped straight into team‑building games, building communication, trust, and problem‑solving skills… then took to the water for canoeing, where the young people absolutely thrived.

From learning paddle techniques to working together to stay balanced, they picked up new skills and confidence with every minute.

💬 Skills we saw growing today:
- Teamwork & communication
- Resilience and trying new things
- Water safety awareness
- Confidence in and out of the boat

If this is how Day 1 looked, we can’t wait for the rest of the programme.

Our young people absolutely smashed it on the water. At first, there were a few nerves (and a lot of questions about the safety gear!), but once they pushed off… they didn’t want to come back in.

What we saw out there was more than kayaking, it was confidence growing in real time.

It was teamwork, resilience, and that moment when a young person realises, “I can actually do this.”

💬 Impact we’re proud of:

Young people stepping outside their comfort zones
Building trust in themselves and each other
Developing new skills in a safe, supportive environment
Leaving the session buzzing with pride and wanting more

Huge thanks to SWS for making this possible. Days like this remind us why the REACH Schools Project matters — because when you give young people the chance to try something new, they rise to it every time

Huge shoutout to our amazing young people at Utopia! 🎉

To celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, they took full ownership of a youth-led session: planning, designing, and delivering a brilliant presentation on LGBTQ+ history.

They explored:
- Key milestones in LGBTQ+ rights
- Celebrities in the LGBTQ+ community, past and present
- The history behind LGBTQ+

Their confidence, teamwork, research skills, and creativity were on full display. We’re so proud of the safe, inclusive space they continue to build together. 🌈💛

🌟 Detached Youth Work Tonight in Sandbach & Elworth

We’ll be out and about in Sandbach and Elworth tonight, chatting with young people, offering support, and making sure everyone has a safe space to talk, connect, and get advice.

What is detached youth work? Detached youth work means we meet young people where they are - out in the community, in parks, on the streets, and in the places they naturally spend time.
It’s all about:

Building positive relationships

Offering support and guidance

Listening without judgement

Helping young people stay safe and make informed choices

If you see us around tonight, come say hello. We’re here for you.
