Neuro-Inclusion Network - Wednesday 15th July, 1pm-3pm on Zoom

Join our second Neuro-Inclusion Network to meet with peers and share experiences and practical tips to make your organisation more inclusive. The focus of this network will be Reasonable Adjustments for Your Organisation.

Our guest speaker will be Laura Shambrook, CVS Cheshire East, who will share her experience working in the voluntary sector and with the Council from a neurodivergent perspective, and experience with the Access to Work programme.

We will also have two breakout rooms to focus discussion:
1. How to manage and support neurodivergent teams
2. How to speak to your manager about neurodivergence and accessibility

Who can attend: Staff and volunteers of non-profit organisations delivering services in Cheshire East. This session is not open to the public.

We had a fantastic opportunity to visit Pawprints To Freedom Rescue - Registered Charity No 1194754 recently.

Pawprints to Freedom is a team of volunteers who dedicate their time to help dogs who are suffering in terrible conditions. This was a great experience for us learning about the amazing work that happens, talking about volunteering and of course seeing all the beautiful dogs.

If you would like to learn more about Pawprints to Freedom, check out their page and website.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at our AGM and VCFSE Alliance networking event this afternoon.

Alongside reflecting on CVS Cheshire East's work over the past financial year, we explored important topics including the Civil Society Covenant, Neighbourhood Health and Devolution and what these developments could mean for local organisations and communities.

Thank you to everybody at Holmes Chapel Community Centre for being such welcoming hosts and providing a great venue for the event.

Posting regularly on social media can feel overwhelming without a clear plan in place.

That’s why one of the key focuses in our upcoming Advanced Social Media Training: Strategy, Planning & Analytics is creating a more structured and manageable approach to content planning.

During the session, we’ll explore how to:
• Stay consistent across your social media channels
• Save time using planning tools
• Create a clear content schedule that works for your organisation

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more insights from the training to support charities, community groups and organisations looking to strengthen their social media presence.

Why does keeping volunteering voluntary matter?

In this video, our CEO Kate explores why volunteering is at its most powerful when people choose to give their time because they care, not because they have to.

That choice is what makes volunteering meaningful. It creates opportunities for people to build confidence, develop skills, make connections, improve wellbeing and give back in ways that work for them.

At the same time, volunteers make an enormous difference to our communities, supporting services and strengthening local organisations.

Volunteering benefits everyone involved.

We'd love to hear from you. What does volunteering look like in your organisation? How do your volunteers make a difference?

This volunteer's week, we want to shine a light on some amazing volunteer stories we have from East Cheshire NHS Trust.

Nigel, a Pets As Therapy volunteer, has been volunteering for over 3 years now. Nigel would highly recommend volunteering due to the sense of camaraderie between the volunteers, all of whom are very friendly.

Rob, an A&E volunteer, finds it important to have some structure to the week and enjoys feeling that he's being helpful. Rob also recommends volunteering and has recruited two friends to do the same work, and they enjoy it as well.

If you would like to read more on Nigel and Rob's volunteering stories, check the news tab on our website, linked in the bio.
