Dietitians Week: Supporting Better Nutritional Care

Our dietitians have been out on the wards at Leighton Hospital delivering MUST (Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool) training as part of Dietitians Week.

By working alongside ward teams, they’re helping staff feel more confident and accurate in nutritional screening – supporting the early identification and management of malnutrition.

This hands-on training is a great example of how our teams are working together to improve patient care every day. đź’™

We are currently managing a water supply issue at Leighton Hospital.

This has affected both drinking water and water used for toilets and handwashing. A water tanker is in place and supporting supply to the Emergency Department while our teams work to resolve the issue.

Activity is being postponed where clinically appropriate, with the exception of cancer and other clinically urgent cases to help reduce pressure on services whilst we manage this issue.

You will be contacted if your appointment is affected. If you do not hear from us, please attend as planned.

Patient visitors are asked to limit attendance to essential visits only, with access prioritised for those visiting end-of-life patients.

Patient safety remains our priority, and we will provide further updates as the situation develops.

If you need medical help, but you’re not sure where to go, use NHS 111 to get assessed and directed to the right place for you - including your GP practice, pharmacy, or safe self care at home. Call, go online or use the NHS App. Info: https://nhs.uk/111
